If you were McCarthy, would you resign with Dallas or go to another team?

If he wants a chance at another super bowl and being paid well, he'd be smart to leave. A dysfunctional FO that doesn't respect coaching and pays accordingly is not the best opportunity.

Why wouldn't the Bears be a better job?

You'd have an incredibly talented second year QB on a rookie contract and no Jerry forcing his old washed up pets on you (Zeke).

Plus there you'd get a little leash. Here half the fans want you fired every time you lose a game... Or every time you have to punt.

He listed his home in Dallas for sale. Should tell you all you need to know.
"In a twist, it so happens that McCarthy is involved in the ownership of another lovely home, this one valued at $2 million ... that he purchased after the 2023 season when then-defensive coordinator Dan Quinn moved to Washington to take over the Commanders.

That's right: McCarthy is selling his $5.7 million mansion but also owns Quinn's former $2 million pad."

Jets hire Rex Ryan. McCarthy replaces Ryan on TV. Everyone knows former Cowboys get media jobs.

If MM could get the Bears job, he wouldn’t have to deal with Jones’ incompetence & interference, and he wouldn’t have a much better upside.
To me thats no question at all: resign with Dallas. In a heartbeat.

You cant make easier money. And thats why MM is still coaching.

I’d walk! With the Bears, you have a QB with a lot of potential and more arm talent. He’s just green. He’s also on a rookie contract. You have an aggressive GM that will go get free agents. You also have good picks to work with. Most of all, no Jerry/Stephen Jones. I love Jerry, but he’s not “coach friendly”. Can’t stand Stephen Jones.

I think Mike McCarthy walks, signs with another team, but doesn't say anything that burn bridges with Jerruh. jmo.
Mike didn't burn bridges with the packers when they let him go, He simply thanked them for the opportunity, and admitted he didn't get the job done that he was hired to do.
I think Mike knew a year ago that this was going to be his last year in Dallas, no matter what. again, jmo.
Don't rarely see that with any NFL coach.........its a close circle. It's 101 coz high turnover and/or short tenure from one team to another.

If I was Big Mac, I would hand Jerry an envelope. Jerry would open the envelope and pull out a piece of paper that had a hand flipping him off and the words, "I'm out!".

Not sure why anybody would want to tie their career to this clown show.

Just me but I think most coaches would rather work with the Cowboys type of management structure where he deals directly with the GM, Pres and owner. It why we when things start south, most GMs save their own a___ but problem with the Cowboys, nice structure but Jerry is hard to work with.

His decision will tell you what he wants. If he remains here, he's comfortable collecting a check with no expectations of being in charge or winning.

If he moves on, maybe he's got a little fire in his belly after all.

In no way, shape or form is the Bears a better job.
Two ways it’s better:
1) Promising QB on a rookie contract
2) A lot of salary cap space

Why it’s worse
1) Players have literally given up and haven’t fought for the interim coach who supposedly was well liked
2) Worse offensive line in football (Probably only 1 starter and that because he was a 1st round pick)
3) Stadium issues (Bid deal in Chicago)
4) Defensive line isn’t good either

Always thought that he planned to stay in Dallas for only 1 x 5 year stint.

Bears job is ideal for him - his wife is from Wisconsin and I think the family is still based there

Honestly IMO, it shouldnt even be an option of him returning. After his contract expires it should stay expired. But for him, he is going to struggle no matter where he goes bc he is outdated Business wise, if he wants to go back to Dallas, he should use the leverage he has with all these openings coming up like his Agent is trying to do know to create a bidding war, so Jerry resigns him. Unless he just wants to leave, and then he can create a bidding war and then just leave.

But this Cowboy fan would love to see him just leave.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Poles is fired after the season. The Bears season has been pretty disappointing. And although the Bears have been terrible expectations in Chicago are always high. The Bears run the town, even during the Chicago Bulls reign it’s Jordan.

I would stay in Dallas, the Bears is one of the worst jobs in football
Being the Cowboys HC could be one of the worst jobs in pro sports. You don’t even get paid well. McCarthy is the 16th highest paid HC in the NFL, and the 3rd highest in the NFC East. Jerry doesn’t pay well on top of being the most meddlesome and undermining owner in sports.

The bears have problems but they also have a potential brighter future at QB than we do. It’s an attractive job for that reason alone.

NO, worse the owners, the bears are a far worse organization than jerry jonesled Cowboys..

interference how maybe there needs to be interference...

The Chicago Bears have a record of 185-218 since 2000.

https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/bears-record-since-2000

The Dallas Cowboys have a 217-186 record since 2000.

let's be clear the Dallas cowboys and Jerry the GM are winning more games than the bears and making the playoffs more than the Bears. So, MM should run to team that can't make the playoffs , never found a franchise QB and no matter how many new shiny separate GMS they hire and new Hcs and top 5 qbs , they suck worse than the cowboys. lmao

this fan base is delusional. the DC over the last 10 years are top 6 NFL team in win % win their division more often than most teams and at least MAKE THE PLAYOFFS.

the last 5 years, bears fan would beg for Jerry vs anything they have ever had..iE losing in the payoffs is far Better than not making the playoffs.

can we at least pick a better team to choose for debate on where mike McCarthy would be better off... its not the bears, Jets, browns, Jags, giants, raiders, Carolina or the Saints ?? what jobs are open, i mean maybe the saints would be a bit better than the Cowboys But with no true answer at QB, is it better..?? a dak led Cowboys twam has NEVER had losing season, ironic huh compared to teams that can win in the RS..SMH!!!

come on guys do better...if you are bolting from a job it has to be better than where you are at, and those jobs are not better...TBH the cowboys may not be built for playoff runs but they do compete win and qualify for the playoffs, it gets downplayed here but its a FACT.. those teams truly suck..

BTW i hope all the jerry hating current fan base who hate all things cowboys follow MM since hes not the issue go follow him wherever he goes and take RUSH with him he can replace Caleb hes that good you know LOL

. It should be pretty BYE BYE!!
