If you were to offer Jevonte Williams a contract, how much would it be?

Strange how so many don't understand the talent required at the RB position. Having a top 10 RB as opposed to "another guy" is a monumentally monstrous difference.

The "RBs don't matter" idea has been blown out of the water.
I absolutely agree. For some reason I thought he was signed for two years. I’m seeing now he was only given a one year deal. WTBS, if he continues this path they will need to make a decision next season. They will have to either give him a new deal, or decide to use a higher draft pick to grab another one.

I guess many look at the Chiefs who in recent years haven't invested a ton at RB but found tons of success despite not having a bell cow. There are certainly multiple ways to build a team, but everything is easier with a great back.
There are multiple ways to build a Super Bowl caliber roster. Jerry Jones is not aware of any of them.

0. Move on to the next guy. Don’t give second contracts to backs. Ever.
Lets put a bit a nuance to that trope. Dont give a second contract to a RB that you've flogged to over 1400 carries in the first four years (Zeke).
There are a number of reasons to support Javonte: age (26 in April), only 685 NFL carries, he proves both power/speed (at present Blue/Luepke/Mafah/Sanders all somewhat indicate the nature of the play), he provides a legitimate threat which opens the field for Dak (will our other RB's illicit that 'concern'/attention).

Furthermore, what's his realistic market, we've just had two extremely strong RB draft classes, so the number of interested teams are probably limited. Also the 2026 draft is RB limited, and not re-signing Javonte is 'so Jerry MO' where it's worked, but Jerrah see's if we can get the same production for cheaper (= failure).

This young man has been great for us in 4 games, he's exceeded all expations to this point. If you were to offer him a contract, how much would you pay him? How many years would the deal be? Please give your thoughts!

But Coog (The season isn't even over!) I know that!! Just based on his play so far and how he's helped this offense, what would you pay him!??
Well if he moves out of our financial slot. Fine we wish you well. I see his value around 5-6 M pre.

He's a relatively young player at 25, so a 3yr or even 4yr contract would be safe. We should have an equal caliber #2 back at all times to share the load and provide insurance so we shouldn't pay him superstar money.
I wish. There are very very few equal caliber backs to Javonte in the NFL. His quickness and power combined w/ good speed are rare traits to find in one back.

Two years, $13.5 million with added incentives to make it worth a max of $16 million.

Not committing long term to backs anymore. See Zeke post-2019 for details.

Next year's feature back will be Blue. Williams is doing great, but he's gonna want a boatload of cash. No thanks. Draft another RB in the 5th round, and we're good to go.

2 for 15 fully guaranteed. Thats it. Otherwise i'll draft another guy and see if Mafia can start while blue backs him up.

If he signs for a ton of money elsewhere he could get us a 3rd or 4th round pick.

Above said, let's see what happens the rest of the season.
I agree we should give it maybe until the bye week if he's still rolling like this I think it would be smart money to sign him now versus let him enter free agency.. I understand the risks in running backs that's why you offer them a three year deal for $24 million$15 million guaranteed that's rather low risk and that's about the market for a player like him even if we got another last year why would you not want another one with the risk that you won't have the same result

which by the way please don't sell short what I believe is our future Mafah/blue combo..

I know it's weird I just saw really good consistency with the physicalness in training camp from Phil He's been really good so far,. Have to see it in a regular season,

that's why my idea you need to bring him off IR as soon as possible Put sanders on IR activate Phil and let's let him right now get the experience And that way if Williams gets injured we have a guy very similar to him ready to go and not putting him in cold....
