I don't think Huff will be there, but let's imagine he is still there when we get to 18. Do you take him? Even with all of the picks we've used on defense, I just might.
Absolutely!

Yes I would take Young at 18. I don't think he will get there and if he did I don't think Bill would take him either. I don't care. Drew will not take us to the promised land and Young might be able to. That simple to me. If we did take him and we didn't get there in 3 years I would be looking for another QB. By then even Drew might to decide to retire.

Did anyone in hear read scouts rave about his pro day (only 5 incompletions out of 57 attempts, threw a 60yd completion on the run, rolling LEFT, without breaking stride)? No WAY Cutler goes ahead of him...he dazzled with throwing and arm strength. Green Bay scout likened him to Jordan. All time bonehead move if you don't pick this guy top five, much less mid first round.

If he aint a sure fire QB in the pros - or about as close to one as you can come to one - I dont want him drafted as a QB for the boys. I am so tired of projects. Sheesh, you never had this problem under Landry. We've had this problem since Aikman left, and can you imagine if we didn't suck so bad that year and not gotten the #1 pick or kept Steve Walsh, instead of Aikman, where we would have been.

I dont think I want Young.

Absolutely not, unless we install a shotgun only triple option style offense.

I'm a VY fan and I would love to have him, but at this point in time we are close to being a contender for all the marbles.

Trade down and pick-up a couple of players that can help us now.

Ok, I've kept quiet on this subject so far but I feel compelled to state my position. I'm a UT alum. I love the Horns and I love Vince and I'll never forget how he single-handedly willed us to a national championship. He'll always be one of my favorite college players, but...

I hope the Cowboys do not draft him. I do not think he is a good fit for this team at this time. I am skeptical of his ability to read defenses at the pro level. Vince is a freelancer and while he was a man among boys at the college level, this will not be so in the NFL. He may develop into a great pro quarterback but I do believe it will take some time and time is a luxury that the Cowboys do not have.

The Cowboys window is open now. I truly believe we are a player or two away from winning a Superbowl and I think Bledsoe will be the quarterback when it happens. The Cowboys need an OLB, a FS, and an offensive lineman or two. This year's and possibly next year's high draft picks must be used on players that can contribute immediately. Vince Young is not such a player.

If we draft a Longhorn I hope it's Huff.

$5 dollars to a donut VY will be the best QB of late. If we have a chance to get him and the luxury of sitting him behind DB for a year or two we would be STUPID not to pull the trigger on that deal. :shoot3:

NO! NO! NO! NO! and NO! again. Let someone else take that gamble that he will become an NFL QB. I do not want that guy here unless he will be playing WR.

I agree with the one poster, VY does not know how to read defenses, in the offense they ran for him here at UT, he did not have to read defenses.

NO way. The next special QB coming out will be in the next draft, and that will be Brady Quinn.

Young would be a special WR, hopefully he realizes quick that he is not a NFL QB.

So if he was in an offense that did not require him to do something how can you judge whether or not he can do it?

I don't think Young is even on Dallas radar screen. I think Young is a great athlete but I think he has more question marks in his ability to play QB at the pro level. Young played the vast majority out the shot gun and being under center making your reads is a bit more difficult. At Texas he was lined up to take advantage of his athletic ability but in the Pro's teams tend to have their QB trying to get other players involved not the QB being a one man show.

Because I have watched him since he got his first opportunity to play for UT. I've seen UT go from their normal offense that they would run with a QB, to putting in that style of offense so that he can be the playmaker that he was.

My home town is Austin, and I have watched this guy, everytime I see him all I see is a great college player, but I see and NFL WR too.

Doc, I'm telling you he cannot do it.
Oh, if anyone think he will be drafted by the Titans, you are wrong, the Titans will draft Lienart. Norm Chow has already said that Matt Lienart can wow you in the classroom with his knowledge of the game and He and Chow has a relationship, also Jeff Fisher is a USC guy as well, so the Titans is out for Young. Vince may not even go in the top 10, he will be lucky to go in the top 15.

i cant see a scenario where we would trade up to get Vince Young, nor will he slide to #18, and with that said he will not be a Cowboy. would i love to have him....more than any other player in this draft bar none.

Can't say I disagree w/ too much of this here atd, although I don't doubt VY WILL pick-up the ability to read defenses at the pro level much more quickly than some give him credit for, and WILL be what everyone hoped for in M. Vick, but have yet to see.

All things being equal, I'd take VY in a heartbeat, but if truth be told, I'd think the Pokes would take Huff over VY.

"Willie Jenkins" (Huff's on-field alter-ego) is going to be a starter next year IMO.

I would, I really think Vince Young is going to be a GreatQb.If hes sliding like there saying he is, and you can say move down to the 8th or 9th pick and get him I would.

Then I would have him learn under bledsoe for his Rookie Season and take over in his second.

Yeah it sounds good... I would if im Jerry Jones... Vince Young could be the final piece to this superbowl puzzell... I think he could beat Bledsoe out of his job...as a rookie.. Has alot of mobility...

Vince Young reminds me of Ben Rothlisberger just a faster version of him...

These two statements alone demonstrate how little you know about running an offense.

"VY free-falls to #18..." :lmao2:

"VY is a WR...." :lmao:

"Cowboys would pass on VY at #18..." :lmao2:

if Vince Young slides into "the teens" i hope the Cowboys have the snap to trade up for him. let's develop a franchise QB beginning with a potential franchise QB. novel idea, huh?

We do not need to trade up right now.

Acutally we are better off trading down at this point IMO.

Agreed. We need to get extra picks as we are already short, but if he slides that far, I'd go for it.

Watch Vince Young drop all the way to us...but then Big Bill trades down for another pick.

It would be just like when we could have drafted Steven Jackson. Remember how excited we all were when he actually fell to us...and then out of the blue we traded down. I was pissed...though it turned out to be a smart move I think.

Would you be upset if that happened with Vince?
