Zeke will start and play lots, he is our only back who can protect Dak. That being said, Dowdle needs a majority of carries on non-pass plays, and for the OP he hasn't done anything to deserve to start, he is our starter by attrition

Zeke will start and play a few early downs and pass protect.

Dowdle will get more touches

Zeke playing the first snap would be a confirming metaphor for what the FO values: Brand over performance, comfort over progress, optics over reality

It better be Dowdle. He’s the better back, and he’s earned a starting role. Heck I’d rather see Deuce more than Zeke this game.
What if he plays the 2nd snap?

The fact that this obvious hole wasn’t addressed lets you know the team isn’t serious. It doesn’t matter who starts.

It is beyond ignorant. Rbs don't get better with age.
Ignorant? You need to look in the mirror to see the ignorant one. What's ignorant is saying something won't happen when it possibly could.

The dude is only 29 years old, basically had two years of rest and with our new and improved O-Line, it IS possible.

So take your ignorant *** elsewhere and troll somebody else.

Dowdle will most likely get the most carries this year but he won't get the nod by MM to get the first carry. That will be Zeke and that's fine. It's not an indicator of anything except Zeke's seniority on this team. What you are saying is ridiculous. You're inventing reasons to complain that are not real.

And this is based on what… you don’t want him to be? What are you going to do if he is… scream shrilly and vigorously stomp your wittle foot?
Just using simple basic reasoning skills… we’re going up against one of the top defensive lines in the NFL opening week with 2 rookies starting at OL in two of the most important OL positions. Common sense you would want a back that understands protections and excels at executing them, especially when you consider McCarthy implements a “pass to run” offensive scheme.
Hey, we’re not in a Coryell anymore… May want to try wrapping your head around that reality at some point!

The Cowboys seriously need Zeke on the field to help Guyton with blocking Miles Garrett.

I think we've seen more than enough this offseason to know we aren't a serious team.

I wouldn't waste so much effort on this kid. he's very desperate to join the Zeke Hatin Kool Kids Klub. Logic won't help any.

Lol, they are one of the best teams in the NFC and you think that they aren't serious. How does one come up with these thoughts? You actually think that a 12 win team isn't serious.

Of course Zeke is in on the first play. If you have a different expectation welcome back to football.
