What the Cowboys should do is sign Jamaal Williams a great short yardage back who smells the endzone. Scored 17 TD's last year for the Detroit Lions.

Draft a RB.
I'm thinking that will most likely be the answer BUT he want be from Texas we would have to move up
to high. If you look at the other RB's in the draft none have staggering stats to go by....hmmmmm

You see how the draft goes first. if you don't get a RB, there should be FA RBs available post-draft.

no sorry you include what Jamals asking price is? he outplayed the 3mil last year wants 6-7 guaranteed and that too much for us. ask yourself why the loins didn't resign him and instead signed another rb from the FA market..im betting its all about $$$$

TP=10mil
Zeke not here but dead cap 5.5MIL
Malik

that far too much invested in the RB room already..tyou draft a RB 3rd roundish and go with it..no need to spend more money there..

makes zero sense. we have always said you can find great rbs mod rounds and they will be ready NOW.. should be able to draft zekes replacement this year and pollards next.. that what many teams do and rather go that route while we have a top paid QB..

Zeeks cap bite 6 mil this year and 6 mil next season overall savings 11 mil this year you have to move on.
Remember what JJ use to say "Addition by Subtraction"

The 6 mil this year that Jaamal wants is a fair contract if you want to go cheaper than you draft one

They will 100% draft a RB if Zeke is cut, but they should still bring in a proven vet IMO.

And no first round RB. Let's not make the Zeke mistake again.

RB heavy draft, get one in rounds 2-4. Going into the season relying on Malik Davis would be brain dead!
RB heavy draft maybe in volume numbers HWOEVER out of the University of Texas RB go look at the numbers
for the RB's after him. Their College stats not really great so I have a hard time figuring the second, third and
fourth best RB's in the draft.

umm zeke cut still on the books ie the CAP for 6mil how is it that doesn't compute dead cap counts and then add 6 + 10 + Malik = too much already spent in RB room. Get passed it wont happen. again draft a dang RB its easy KC used that formula; RBBC and won a SB using those rbs.

you spend the cap savings else where.

proven why pay tp 10mil if hes not the next guy up..no vets needed pollards a 4year vet, maliks year older, a draftee can step right in.. 10mil says welcome to RB!1 pollard and two young RBs to spell him..easy formula 16mil already counts agint this year RB cap with zekes dead cap..

They will rue the day for letting Zeke go.:popcorn:...I just had to...

They need to draft a RB. Pollard is not the answer, not long term anyway. There is not a RB in FA that can replace Zeke. Except maybe Miles Sanders, and I say that almost wanting to laugh.
Plus he will be looking for Pollard type $$$.

Draft a RB, even if you have to trade up some to get Robinson. Then I want to see the responses and if any melt downs, contradictions.
From those that wanted Zeke gone or never drafted in the 1st round, or draft a RB in the 1st round. Are they the same ones that want Robinson in the 1st round?

I have not looked at the RB draft class yet beyond Robinson.

Nonsense! Try not to be such a homer. There are multiple back’s available 2-4 who can start in this league and are more physical and less of finesse back than Robinson!

If we cut Zeke, then rounds 1-2. You can't rely on absolutes in the third or fourth round. If you absolutely need to fill a position, then you've got to draft that player in the first two rounds (and even that's no guarantee).

However, I feel like if Dallas cuts Elliott, it will pick up a veteran for a couple million to pair with Pollard, especially with Pollard coming off injury. The team generally doesn't like being forced to absolutely draft a need, and the need for a back would be glaring.

Not to inject a madden game approach but with Dallas currently holding the #26 overall pick in 2023; Seattle possesses the #20 overall pick (their second 1sr round pick for 2023) so I am uncertain of all the workings to make it happen but should Bijah Robinson still be there at #20, Dallas trades their 2024 1st round pick and perhaps a 3rd round pick this year to acquire the #20 pick......Dallas selects Bijah Robinson at #20 and with their #26 pick they select OG O'Cyrus Torrence.

While giving away a 1 next season may be tough for people to swallow, grabbing Robinson and Torrence solidifies the RB position as well as adding another young offensive lineman to partner with T. Smith.
