Here's another fun comparison.

Jason Witten - 77 speed.

Vernon Davis - 92 speed

Terry Glenn and Terrell Owens - 93 speed.

I have to figure out a way to snag Davis away from the Niners GM in our franchise league. He's got him up for trade, and there isn't a LB in the league that can hang. I've just got the Bills, so I don't have jack for trade pieces.

Manny Lawson has 90 speed.

Actual in-game speed is also based a lot on height/size and build. Go to the edit player feature and beef Devin Hester to 350 lbs and 6'8" and see how quick he is then...

What I don't get is, if "Romo" has so much to prove, why don't Cutler/Leinart?

At least Romo statistically, was up there with the best Qbs in the league. Something Cutler and Leinart didn't do.

My guess is because they were 1st rounders is what benefits them in Madden's rating system.

But Witten has higher scores in "catch in traffic" and most of the blocking & route running categories. And, Davis is much faster than Witten. I don't have a problem with it.

what happened to just speed and awareness and the other stats. are these the in game ,editable , stats for the players now?

Romo 89 power; 86 accuracy.

Romo doesn't have a strong arm. Thats about right.. I would have given him an 85 arm. How a Pac-10 sprint champ has 85 speed shows a lack of research on lesser known rookies by EA.

Ware at at 86 is about right too.

I'm excited because of the player performance ratings that are much more specific than last year and the special player titles. Developing those kind of players in franchise mode sounds like it will use alot of my time this fall monday thru saturday and sunday mornings.
