I'll be disappointed tomorrow if...

At best he has back up quarterback talent...at best. He should have been no better than a third round pick.

that explains all the 1 and 2 picks where people *thought* they'd go. i can live with him falling, i can live with him being a bust, but to say he shoulda been 3rd round when he was projected at a time to go 2nd in the draft...

a bit more of a reach than i'm doing. : )

Going by that, Romo and Henson are next in line for us.

and?

i'm not really here to argue with people. if cutler is there at 18, i'd have to think hard about taking him. if some wanna disagree and rampage around, ya'll have fun.

as for the focus and #'s - don't really care. we've still got a old about to quit coach who contemplates retirement every year as a hobby - you're telling me that's focused on long term, go ahead.

i disagree.

It was an obscene waste of a first round pick, no matter how you spin it.

It's called voicing an opinion...you know like what you're doing. We just don't happen to agree with yours.

The coach the MEDIA speculates is going to retire, I never heard him say he was thinking retirement, he never even took a day off work.

well that much was obvious. and maybe it was a wasted pick NOW but at the time...it was worth a shot.

as for disagreeing - ha! i said it first. : )

yea, ok. looks like i'm not the only one 'spinning'.

haha ok, you beat me to the disagreement argument :)

I want an impact player this year! No QB in this draft will put Bledsoe on the bench, therefore we must pass on a QB

This I agree with. Hindsight is a b**** isn't it. I'm sure the value of the QB at our spot would be good, and I would think about it, but that's as far as I would go. Hopefully we would play it up like he's a steal and let some other team either trade with us or jump in front to get him.

I don't want a QB quite frankly. Not in the first round. This team is playoff caliber right now. To blow a 1st on someone that isn't going to help this year... would just crush me. Plus it would mean that Romo and Henson are finished with this club.
We have much bigger needs than going QB at 18 IMO.

yea, like i said, i'd THINK about it, darn hard. but i'm not sure if i could pull the trigger - ESP. if the phone is ringing w/trades.

Even if he is there, I would hate to see us take Cutler. I'm always extremely weary of those guys whose stock just absolutely sores after the season is over and he's definitely one of them. He was thought of as a first day/possible 2nd Round pick when he was leading Vanderbilt to yet another losing season, a couple of good (not great) workouts later and there are some saying he should be picked over Leinart or Young. Say what you want about Leinart or Young but they are both proven winners that have gotten the job done when their team most needed them to time and time again. You can't say that about Cutler. Until proven otherwise, he's not a winner.

Umm what did I spin? Did parcells say he was considering retirement or was that the media?

They both also had much better teams. Culter put up great stats this year despite being on a poor team. A QB cannot do it alone. Think about it. Both teams are putting out alot of high draft picks.
Leinart-1st round
Bush-1st round
White-1st to 2nd round
Justice-1st round
Lutui-2nd round
Young-1st Round
Huff-1st round
Scott-2nd to 3rd round
Griffin-3rd round

I am just dissapointed altogether because I have to work until 6PM EST. Add to the fact that I am driving the Camaro which doesnt have a radio. :( :bang2:

I wasn't expecting him to lead Vandy to the National Championship game. Hell, I was even expecting him to lead them anywhere close to the SEC Championship Game but at least give me a winning season and a bowl game. If he was as stellar as everybody claims him to be, shouldn't Cutler have been able to get the Commodores to 6 mesly wins? If he was anything remotely special, why was he unable to even lead his team to a victory over Middle Tennessee State in his own house?

I'm not expecting miracles but damn Jay, give me something to work with.

Well thats a good point, but he doesn't have an Oline, a running back, a reciever, or a defense. Other than Cutler, Vanderbilt has not produced any draft prosepcts in the first 3 rounds. Heck, I don't even know if they produced any 4th through 7 rounders. Vanderbilt won those games because of Cutler single handidly. If you put Young or Leinart into Vandys team, would they get anymore wins?? Unfortunately there is no way to tell.

You guys have all your "scenarios" for what would really make tomorrow bad. Well how about this:

You sit dow with your friends, your chips, your soda. Everybody's got their draft boards ready. Your wife's decided to go to her mom's for the day. It's loud. It's all good. You think to yourself that even Kipper is properly quoiffed for the event. The sun and the stars are all in alignment.

The Boy's are coming up soon and there's some real studs sitting there you were not expecting. The Eagles just selected some schmuck you've never heard of. Washington just traded all of next year's picks to get out of the first round this year. The Giants fans are booing everything. Your juices are really flowing and then........

The cable company screws up the programing and you end up watching 20 minutes of Martha (evil succubus) Stewart until it gets corrected.

And when it comes back on, the Boys have just traded up to draft the unholly recombinate clone of QC and Dixon

That, my friends, would suck. Everything y'all can imagine is miles better than what I can think of.

It's time to get this done!
