I'll get on Board The Wade Train

OL is part of the O.

scoring is necessary and great but to win consistently you need to control the game and the clock too. most recent proof is the superbowl ;)

dallas did control the clock in alot of games. actually in most. what cost them games was it took teams sometimes only 1 or 2 plays to score

Sure, I'll get on Board The Wade Train, and I'll support him because I'm a Cowboys Fan.

Then In 2008 I'll support his successor.

Not trying to be pessimistic, just realistic.

I hope i'm wrong):(

Sounds more like you're shooting at the train not riding on it.

Do you really believe that Phillips will be here three years??

If he wins... even Jerry's not gonna fire a coach who's winning...

99 % of all coaches will only have a couple of years to turn it around. Every coach is a gamble, no matter what they've done in the past.

Only time shall tell, so let's support him, at least for this 1st year, if he improves greatly, then let's continue to support him until he goes south with the team.

It's good to hear you will be on the bandwagon. I'll bet Wade is glad to hear that too.:laugh2:

I know you're a fan. Cowboys success takes precedent. You don't feel good about the hire. You want it to work, but you don't believe it will.

Being the eternal optimist, I'm going to help.

Philips wasn't my first choice. Parcells was.
None of the applicants did it for me.
Garrett was the only hire that would have excited me.

If you look at this team objectively.
You identified the weak spots and figure out what went wrong.
You then try to figure out the best solution.

When you do that Phillips becomes the obvious choice.

This team has all the defensive talent it needs.
What it needed most was a new voice on that side of the ball and a more aggressive style. A get after the passer/ defend the pass first mentality.
Phillips brings this.

This team is close. Real close.
It does not need to start over.
It does not need to be retooled.

What it needs is a veteran coach with experience for 2-3 years.
Phillips is this.

After listening to Jones and Phillips, I got the feeling Jones had the same evaluation of his team I did.

Kind of scary. Is he as dumb as I am or am I as smart as he is?

With the weather the way it's been here lately....my wife made a great choice in making chili and cornbread today.

the offense will score no matter what. they have too much talent not to. what needs to be focused on is the OL.

Even a defensive coach understands the importance of the OL and I think Phillips will understand the need to improve our OL. After all he knows 1st hand what a strong D can do against a weaker OL. Just because he is known as a defensive guy does not mean he does not understand the importance of the offense to a team
