I know what I express here isn't popular or PC for this board, but I'll say it anyway because it is true.

The mistake was made last year with the benching of Drew Henson at halftime of a Thanksgiving day game, and the stubborn insistence on playing Vinny Testaverde when we had absolutely nothing to gain.

The New York Giants, during the same season, chose to sit down an aging Kurt Warner who is playing his mediocre football for another losing team this season, and grow with a young, green, QB. As you saw today, they are STILL suffering with him.

Problem is, they are not BEHIND US are they? They are AHEAD OF US, and they are STILL developing their QB of the future.

Somewhere along the line a lot of Cowboys fans have forgotten that is isn't our goal to be RESPECTABLE. It is our goal to win championships isn't it? Isn't that a part of what it meant to be a Cowboys fan, to think that way?

5 Super Bowl victories, a few more NFC Championships, America's Team, and now all of the sudden we are satisfied with NEW YORK GIANTS football and RETREAD QB's.

I don't care what Drew Henson turns out to be one day, I'll say it for as long as I watch football, they have mishandled that kid. No one has ever disputed that he has the physical tools to play the QB position and what do our QB guru's do but go change his motion and treat him like an equal to a Division 2 or 3 (I forget), short little golfer who tries to immulate his hero Brett Favre.

I'm a Cowboys fan and have been for life. From the time I can remember watching football, I guess at about 6 or 7 years old until today, that is about 35 years, I have lived and died with our Cowboys.

But I don't like the approach we have taken of late. I would rather try to develop our own long term QB and fail several times before we hit on him than to keep importing Bill's kids.

For the record, and I hope you don't miss this, I THINK BLEDSOE HAS PLAYED WELL THIS YEAR. I think anyone jumping off the Bledsoe bandwagon after today is just plain wrong.

What I'm saying today I have said since last year. It has nothing to do with Bledsoe, it has to do WITH A PHILOSOPHY, and the current one disappoints me.

There, now maybe I'll feel better.

i said this at the time and i was told over and over - you don't start a rookie qb. just not fair.

yea, how silly.

Well...we can waste a few years on henson and be in the same or worse spot...I just don't think the kid has what it takes...I was hopeful at one time but that time has passed.

What we should have done was gotten a young QB in here instead of trying to play bargain basement shopper and hoping to hit a home run while paying for a single.

But hey that is one guys opinion.

That's no way to talk about God...er Parcells. No doubt your going straight to hell but I'll be right there with you buddy. We are not going to win a Super Bowl with Drew Bledsoe at QB but we will be respectable. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

All I know is...that Orton kid is looking good in Chicago.

Sometimes all you need is a spark to fire your team up.

You're right, rcaldw, but Parcells isn't going to put up with developing a young QB, not in the last two or three years of his coaching life.

And as for Henson... He's dead here. He's not even even with Tony Romo. There's as much a chance of me playing QB here as there is Henson.

Silly as Chicago being 9-3.

Yup the whole season would have been different:) the line would be playing better and we would have thousands of yards running. J/k Remember this though, it started way before Parcells arrived. It was just to big a mess to clean up as quick as we liked.

IMOP we still havent looked seriously for our next QB

I totally agree. Jerry Jones now knows what he wants in a head coach

and that could possibly spell the end for Parcell at the end of this year.

He is in no way untouchable. I hope he takes his Jersey=butt the hell

out of Dallas. again just my opinion

Developing a qb? Hell, Parcells won't even allow us to have a decent backup, no qb controversy here, damnit.

Make that two guys opinions.

We have adopted the win now philosophy and time is running out so........we will not see a young QB in the game anytime soon..

You know Jimmy, this is what really irks me about Parcells ruin the QB BS.

Lovie Smith or Bill Parcells? Who has more skins on the wall? Who would you think could have a greater impact on a rookie's development?

Parcells, and a few posters, act like a QB can't be developed early. Yet every year that just isn't the case.

Now, I'm not saying Drew Henson has earned the job, but he certainly deserved a Head Coach who was at least willing to give him a shot last year when we had the opportunity.

He blew it. Period.

On second thought, I'm not sorry........

Actually JERRY IMO is the one to point fingers at, if you want to point fingers.

He never had a decent player to groom behind Aikman, and since then he has went cheap seats on replacements for young QBs to take over down the road.

parcells is the one to pull hensen while winning at the 1/2.
parcells is the one who'd not give hensen OR romo time when it just didn't matter.
parcells is the one who's determined neither qb will be given time to see what they can or can't do.

you either load up to win now (as we're doing) or you load up for the long haul (as we're not doing).

Henson is not the answer and nor is Romo.

We could have had the answer sitting behind Aikman but instead waited till aikman got hurt and then drafted QC..then we got Hutch, then Henson.

We have wasted time on trying to pay for a single and hoping to hit a home run.

Bill has and would play a Rookie QB if he felt they were worthy...people seem to forget that he started Bledsoe as a rook.

This all goes back to Jerry Jones no matter how you slice it.

I like this guy. How much of a lousy team can one guy change in two years?
This his third and we are yet alot better than before.
