As for mwah....i don't completely eat the cheese before the season even begins at this point. Too many years the hype is just that....hype. Too many major disappointments this century. Rather just take it week to week. I agree if they are gonna do it, the window is open now with this defense. The offense still i have concerns with because they have failed too many times in the clutch. And then One and done. But i am eager to see it with Pollard and Deuce, Jake the snake, and CD/Cooks/Gallup combo.

Time to shrink the giants.

I would be very surprised if Quinn's group is outplayed by the opponent week in and week out this year.
Don't have that same confidence with McCarthy's group.
I "want" to believe in Fassel's kicker so I guess I am hopeful but still nervous.

Well, there is always a chance this year then.

I understand that, I just meant that is the way I look at it. Every year is a new year. I will enjoy each game.
And when the playoffs are here. Then I will see how I feel, how the team is playing.

If others want to not be that way, then so be it.

My hopes rest on our defense to make the difference esp when our offense is laying eggs.
Am I asking too much from our defense?

That's pretty much what I was going to say. I only worry about the offense. Are they good enough to hold their own? I know our QB will do fine when given the weapons like Randy Moss, Jerry Rice, Cooper Cupp, Kittle, and Adrian Peterson. But since that isn't the case, did we do enough? I saw flashes the year we had that awful defense, and right before Dak got injured. So it is possible.

As jaded as I am from 26+ years of disappointment, I'm always cautious, yet slightly optimistic....as always.
I want to be surprised.

It is, is it not? But it would be depressing to think that way, hope is great. But this year we have a lot to digest as opposed to other years. We have a generational talent on defense. Him and Diggs, along with some supporting cast, transformed our D almost overnight. We have a project X at RB that could turn heads, and ankles. We don't know. If nothing else, we have a lot more to look forward to than most other seasons.

One more thing. This front office has quietly built a very good team. They haven't gone all out, but they haven't just sat back and done nothing like they have done for the better part of the last decade. They've landed somewhere in between.
