I'm certain, the team culture is the problem

Jimmy nailed it a few years ago when he said it was a "Country Club"... As long as Bozo the Clown and his son Cookie are having fun, it will take a miracle for the Cowboys to win another Super Bowl. Everyone knows it.
Most of us know this, not everyone. There's still a few holdouts who support Jerry and believe he's totally invested in winning.

I don't think team culture is to blame for the ridiculous ways they find to lose games.

Team culture isn't the answer...solving problems is.

The Cowboys starting right tackle has not only been a weakness of the offensive line this season, but he’s been a liability. On Sunday night in Philadelphia, he made every bit the impact CeeDee Lamb made, but instead of for the positive, it was unequivocally for the negative. It wasn’t just one great player victimizing the floundering young tackle either. The Eagles were rotating left edge players in. It was as if Oprah were giving away pressures to the studio audience at LDE – “you get a pressure, you get a pressure, you get a pressure!”

By early count, Steele was credited with eight pressures on the day. It was the same number of pressures Steele yielded against San Francisco earlier in the season. For the sake of context, Micah Parsons, arguably the best pass rusher in the NFL, is averaging just over six pressures per game. In other words, these top teams have been getting an above Parsons-level performance by their rotation of bodies lined up over Steele. That’s like gifting the opponent an All-Pro player each game.

https://cowboyswire.usatoday.com/2023/11/06/cowboys-terence-steele-pass-blocking-issues-2023/

There are a number of tackle alternatives that could work, or fix Steele.

Steele’s tremendous work ethic and determination assure he’ll do everything within his power to get back to form. Until he’s able to physically regain form, it’s up to the Dallas coaching staff to help him out. Giving him help blocking and frequent chips from TEs and RBs will be key to helping Steele survive this season. He can’t be left alone like he has been the majority of the time, or the results will likely be the same. Steele has been a massive problem for the Cowboys passing game and his run blocking is doing nothing to make up for it. While his issues are understandable given his recent injury, they cannot be ignored.

Derrick Henry and now no big play Pollard. Last year season he had quite a bit of production and plenty of big plays. This Eagles game would have ended differently with Henry on the roster.

You can bring in all the best coaches since Jimmy Johnson, and all the best players since 1995, and what does Dallas have - a "good enough" mindset and culture.

We have one of the best NFL players saying after the iggles loss- " after this game, our conference is much better."

There is no "failing forward" in the NFL, especially when you're a Dallas Cowboys. Dallas Cowboys used to set the damn tone decades ago. Now they act like wussies who are pleased with hope that they'll become great and compete with the big boys.

Change this culture and see the titles return.
There is no other team that promotes a culture such as ours. It is unique and Jerry is comfortable doing business in this manner. Nothing has ever changed in that regard and won't till the old man is gone, gone, gone.

Actually, that game is over and we have a lot of games left and it looks like we will get a win next week and go on from there.
This forum is incapable of moving on from things.

Jerry has set the tone for this toxic culture.
All the emphasis on entertainment and money is a huge distraction.
The players get caught up in it.
A HC like Jimmy kept the players focused.

The GM ledger will probably be made or lost on these considerations:

To say the Dallas Cowboys regret giving Michael Gallup a big-money extension coming off a torn ACL two years ago would be an understatement. That mistake was amplified by the fact they kept (and extended) Gallup over Amari Cooper, whom they traded to the Browns days after Gallup signed his contract.

We don't have the first clue of what it takes to run an NFL franchise, but giving players bulky extensions who are coming off a major injury doesn't sound like good business. The risk far outweigh the rewards, especially if said team overextends to keep said player.

________________

That, unfortunately, is exactly what the Cowboys did with Gallup by giving him a five-year, $57.5 million extension, including $27 million guaranteed in the 2022 offseason.

Despite an entire 2022 season of evidence that Gallup might never regain his pre-injury from, Dallas went ahead and gave Terence Steele a $86.8 million extension, including $50 million guaranteed and a max value of $91.8 million, this past March.

Steele tore his ACL in Week 14 of last season and has played like one of the worst right tackles in the league through eight games this year.

Such an inept fo “face palm”

In the radio show Jerry told fans to not be too critical of Steele because he’s coming off an injury

This inept fo loves and adores the players they draft and believe extending them to huge contracts justifies their draft choice

Disagree with the OP. Winning is primarily about the quality of the players, but also the quality of the coaching.

Blaming the lack of success on some vague touchy feely "culture" concept is wrong.

Fix the roster, add better coaching, and there won't be a "culture" problem any more.

How is that confidence going to be if they fall flat on their face against the Gnats this weekend? They're being touted as a 16 point favorite, so whats to keep them from thinking they won't have to show up and actually put forth any effort?

When Micah says things like that it makes me wonder if he thought they were going to lose by a lot more, but only lost by 5.
Cardinals 2.0?

It’s obviously been the problem for over 25 years. Former players come out and say it only to get roasted by fans on here for being honest.
