I'm certain, the team culture is the problem

As sick as I am of the SB drought topic, after hearing MM and Stephen Jones make excuses for the Eagles loss and compliment players on their efforts, all I can think about is how the players are being taught over and over that there are no real consequences for losing. We Like Our Guys doesn't work. I'll never forget Jimmy Johnson cutting Curvin Richards during the 92 season. Players were afraid to lose a game.

You can bring in all the best coaches since Jimmy Johnson, and all the best players since 1995, and what does Dallas have - a "good enough" mindset and culture.

We have one of the best NFL players saying after the iggles loss- " after this game, our conference is much better."

There is no "failing forward" in the NFL, especially when you're a Dallas Cowboys. Dallas Cowboys used to set the damn tone decades ago. Now they act like wussies who are pleased with hope that they'll become great and compete with the big boys.

Change this culture and see the titles return.
So much better if he said, "man, our confidence is shot. We're not even going to try anymore." Now that would be a winning culture.

I believe the rash of penalties we’ve had the last three years have to be considered part of the culture. We led the league in penalties in 2021 and were near the top in 2022 and are tied for the most penalties in 2023.

In fact we currently lead the league in pre-snap penalties with 22, including a whopping 11 offsides/neutral zone infractions so far. That’s just ridiculous.

And regarding the pre-snap problems- in the loss to SF in the wild card game in Jan, 2022, we had 14 penalties called and 6 were pre-snap…in our home stadium!

These kind of problems scream that there is a lack of focus and/or attention to detail. It’s FOOTBALL 101. If you can’t even line up on sides you can’t beat the best teams in this league.

yeah thanks to jerry

cowboys can win game because they do have talent

but they are soft, unpdiscipline, entitled, and idc i think they is poorly coached…quinn is a good dc and fasell is a good st coach most of the time when he do not get so cute but idk about other

mccarthy is ok at best i do not ever think yeah cowboys have a advantige coaching with him ever especally against real good team
Just think of all the talent this team has wasted over the last 28 years. SB talented players that left here and won a championship elsewhere.

blah, blah, Jerry just wants to be relevant. He will extend the non-clutch guy and not care. He likes publicity no matter if it's good or bad. The anchor will be extended and nothing will change. sheesh, you guys must have started watching this crap last season. Winning is not the big picture, its revenue. Winning will be the icing on the cake. sheesh noobs

It all starts at the top. There's no accountability. Jerry and the fans don't have the same goals. Those that think he does would be fools.
Accountability, like what???!!

you think this is high school or even college....

this is a bunch of millionaires who have contracts, who have a union, it is a hard salary cap, and a roster limit.... You don't just slap them on the wrist and sit them down and make a point... you can't do that nowadays, this is no longer your grandfather's NFL either... you literally just have to have them behind private and closed doors they're being told that this is unacceptable and that they need to fix this as players they are accountable, guarantee they feel bad, and they're trying their best to fix it. They don't go out there on purpose getting penalties and whatnot...
It's so insane a bunch of you think this is high school or a bunch of you think that if Jimmy Johnson was here he would just bench a bunch of these dudes...:lmao: the game has also changed a lot since he left but I'm sorry when's the last time he cut or Benched a complete full-time starter over penalties or turnover?
Sometimes players just play bad and they need to go back to the drawing board and get it fixed these are not high school players or college where you have an unlimited amount of talent pools to pick from you have a starting 22 players and then you have about 26 backups/STs players on game day.. BTW the backups are a steep drop off, So what we going to do the whole if I cut my nose off to spite my face, so you sit a player to make a point and the next player you put in is worse than him, so the problem is not resolved??

This isn't a culture problem this is simply and some of the biggest games and the biggest moments we've had the worst luck with penalties or a player making a mistake it doesn't take that many to make a mistake to lose a close game like this and the NFL is now parity lots of close games won and lost by field goals typically....

I do recall an episode on the Amazon Prime show of the Cowboys where Jason Garrett was describing his delicious dinner and that he couldn't eat it because he was physically ill because of the recent loss the team had when he was head coach

But that is the point - they clowned themselves out of winning at the worst possible time. This has been a recurring theme for a long time now.

A half dozen head coaches, 20+ QBs, full rosters have turned over a few times, and two constants presiding over 4 measly wild card wins.

I can't imagine what could possibly be the culture problem in Dallas. It boggles the mind.

Realistically the “culture” problem is really in the front office. The let’s stay relevant and squeak into the playoffs for as long as we can and hope we luck into a Super Bowl is the issue.

How hard would it be for Jerry to say "The more penalties you accrue, the less your future contract will be. The more drops you have? the less you get paid." And so on. But the man is happy with "being relevant" rather than not satisfied if we aren't winning it all.

It can't be true!!!!
Mike the fraud was going to personally handle the penalty situation 2 seasons ago
Discipline and execution always start with the HC
Those are the very reasons we lost Sunday.
