I'm certain, the team culture is the problem

Disagree with the OP. Winning is primarily about the quality of the players, but also the quality of the coaching.

Blaming the lack of success on some vague touchy feely "culture" concept is wrong.

Fix the roster, add better coaching, and there won't be a "culture" problem any more.
What is the only constant the last 28 years?

Who is the face of the franchise?

Who named themselves GM with no qualifications, decades later admitted he would be fired if he weren't owner, and stayed GM to this day despite that?

Who is accountable?

There's your culture. Nothing vague about it.

You can bring in all the best coaches since Jimmy Johnson, and all the best players since 1995, and what does Dallas have - a "good enough" mindset and culture.

We have one of the best NFL players saying after the iggles loss- " after this game, our conference is much better."

There is no "failing forward" in the NFL, especially when you're a Dallas Cowboys. Dallas Cowboys used to set the damn tone decades ago. Now they act like wussies who are pleased with hope that they'll become great and compete with the big boys.

Change this culture and see the titles return.
agreed. this team shrinks in the big moment and it starts with the Owner and HC. this team wasn't prepared and didn't play like they were prepared for the tough moments. parcells used to practice these two minute situations as if it was game time. we make mental mistakes after mental mistakes. the Coaches, and players.

Culture has been the problem since Jimmy left and Jerry & Stephen started playing fantasy football front office. They squeezed one more title out of Jimmy's guys in spite of themselves and joke coach Barry Switzer. We've seen the results of their leadership ever since - 28 years and 4 playoff wins. Don't expect anything different.

Well then why are you basically doing everything but just sacking up and just flat out saying it then?
Because that subject doesn't have anything to do with this thread and I don't want to highjack it.

Is that sacking up enough for you?

GMO you are spot on this culture constantly puts a ceiling on how far we can get.
Making the playoffs with this type culture and maybe winning a game is as much as we can ever expect.

The sad fact is after watching Great Men lead this franchise and make it truly America's team we have to watch the Joneses ruin it make it a laughing stock.

What makes this worse and pours salt into the wound is that there are just too many Jones is left to keep this team down in the mire of mediocrity and for us to ever see a championship it would have to be a perfect storm of failure for our opponents which I don't ever see happening

That isn't the biggest problem with the Dallas Cowboys.

That isn't what caused the season ending losses each of the last 2 years.

Yep. Leading the league in penalties and overall bad team play ended us.

This forum is incapable of moving on from things.
Yep, just like the Dak stans who keep throwing out meaningless stats in order to prop up their hero after losing efforts.

I believe we will see some much needed changes in early 2024.

Lack of focus and determination leads to these things happening. And a bad culture can lead to a lack of focus and determination.
The D and Special Teams are solid.

The O is a wreck.

Who’s in charge of the O now?

Yep, soon as Jimmy was gone, Deion decided he didn't want to follow the orders of Mike Woicik, our workout coach. Jerry backed Dieon.

Then Dieon didn't want to be in the defensive huddle, the owner back Dieon. Dieon wanted to play offense, the owner backed Dieon.

Since Jimmy was gone, players don't fear or respect coaches decisions, as long as Jerry's around to have the final word.

The GM doesn't fear the owner will fire him, so they don't need to get better.

The value of the franchise goes up every year, so the owner doesn't want to change things.

Yep Jake, it's been that way since Jimmy. To the OP, that's the culture.

JJ set the tone. A long time ago. Players know the HC has no real control. Not since tuna left.

We are run by an 80 year old drunken clown who wants to be everybody's best friend. What could possibly go wrong.

Ever just figure out how to insult for a personal whipping for the you are supposed to be backing?

Right now this same team has the 3rd best NFC record. Pin a medal on that chest.

WRONG, try harder. I'd say you just described the fan base, weak, posting nonsensical team/player hate, yeah thanks for describing yourself to me I appreciate that.... I saw a team that got beat because of some unfortunate bounces that some of those fumbles from the Eagles didn't fall our way from some of the penalties some missed calls some no calls and some calls that were questionable the players played hard they didn't accept it but they're not gonna come in the media saying what you wanna hear they're just trying to be positive I'm sorry but your expectations ridiculous that you think you're entitled to anything those players are passed off the coaches are pisssed off they wanted to win the game it showed they gave a lot of effort and they just got beat on the road to what is the team with the best record in the NFL who went to the Super bowl last year... We were a few inches away of beating that team and you wanna come on here and complain as if you're entitled to their reactions after the game or this week to be different only what you think they should be we call that being entitled you are not entitled to anything...

Dude you’re a staff member and essentially have already hijacked the thread with your not so subtle insinuations as to what the elephant in the room is. What you are posting has nothing to do with the initial post. There’s just no one that can delete your off-topic comments.

The whole “culture” thing is largely overrated in pro sports. You need the best players. The best players tend to bring the best focus and attitude. When you’ve got the best players, you win. It’s really that simple.

Blame the culture or the FO and Jerry & Son all you want. Bag on them. It does not change a thing.
They are not out there on the field making the mistakes, that is on the coaches.
So bagging on them is just venting. It does nothing.

However they are in charge of putting players on the field. It comes down to, that we just lack a few playmakers on both sides of the ball.
Oh we have a few, but they are not consistent, they seem to disappear at times, especially when needed the most in big games.

Now that can be partly on coaching, but they still lack a few players. Well more than a few.
