Just a couple seasons ago, we had the best success rate in the league on challenges. I don't know how it's looked since them, but I imagine we do an ok job with it, overall. That said, don't know what they thought they saw up in the booth with that first challenge.
If you have the best success rate, it's likely that you're not challenging enough.

I thought both challenges were good yesterday, given that the Eagles do a great job of lining up really fast. They had to make the decisions fast without a lot of information.

That latter is definitely true.

Regarding the successful challenge we all saw it on the replay before the challenge. I know I was hollering "throw the flag."

Regarding the unsuccessful challenge on the long Maclin catch and run... What were they thinking???

I am and have been a big Garrett fan. But I don't see this issue as some big deal. Didn't before and don't now.

I can't kill him for the first challenge. It happened so fast, if there was any doubt, he was almost compelled to.

The first challenge should not have happened. Even if it was a fumble, they clearly got it back. That wasted TO might have helped get some points in the last drive of the half.

They have at least the same visuals in the same timing that we do, correct? That first challenge was NOT a good call as you could clearly see him down before the ball came out. Yes, it's bang, bang. But it didn't take a lot of study on either of those replays.

Oh well, we got the one right that REALLY mattered.

One of the main areas JG is not getting credit for even by the media is this balance in the offense.. Now in pre-season the WHOLE world was questioning the hiring of Linehan and all believed it means this is going to be pass-happy offense since Linehan is mostly known for that as an OC.

What's happened to him? why did he change his approach? All of a sudden he decided to change his beliefs? Well..I believe JG sat with him when hired and told him we are going to run the ball, we got this OL, a QB to run the show and a group of RBs who can carry the ball..so run it first ..we want balance....

Amen.

other than the drive to retake the lead, the second challenge may have been the most critical point in the game
garrett deserves credit for making a quick decision without all the info

What game were you watching on that play? Dallas recovered that, not Philly.

Wow, went back and looked at it. I could have swore that Matthews grabbed the ball there. I stormed out of the room on that play in disgust.

Didn't they take a time out on 3rd and 1, before the half, only to call a pass play?

I wasn't happy. Dunbar could've got that in a wheel chair.

I think Garrett was wanting to put a nail in the coffin, maybe?

I wouldn't be surprised if he just wanted to stop the click on the first challenge. The Eagles were clearly about to walk in (they did anyway) but I can see giving your D a chance to breathe and making sure about the fumble at the same time.

The second challenge was inspired.

As a confirmed Garrett basher I am on the Red train.

That challenge on the Celek fumble came quick and was huge. In past years he would have just stood there.

He has been managing the games brilliantly and has the team prepared.

He has adjusted some things to fit his guys, like the sweats on the plane rule. Sweats on the Plane!

Garrett has stood the course and has his team primed.

I honestly think you should be clapping for Jerry and Stephen here as well.
They ate a lot of soup sandwiches to get to this point with a young, developing coach.

They basically admitted he wasn't great yet but had the tolls and the work ethic to get there.
It looks like they are right and it also means Dallas may have a HC in place for another decade.

the team all around deserves our praise. the attitude and character has turned from losers to winners. even if they don't make the playoffs, they'e only getting better.

I will still hold off on applauding Garrett. We still have some season to go. When and if we win a playoff game I will give him a little praise but I have a hard time coming around when it is his fault we missed the playoffs the last three seasons with idiotic game/clock management. Forgive me if I don't jump all in on the Garrett train until he actually earns it.

What do you say? I just shake my head. Your take on the last three seasons is what is true of the word you used. I don't think he is waiting for your approval. Neither am I.

Hes doing pretty good this year. As long as the players play for him might as well keep him.
