After the Tyron Smith pick it was clearly stated that Jason Garrett really did have control in this draft but after the DeMarco Murray pick Jerry is the idiot now in charge.

So is it when Dallas something person X agrees with Jason now has control but when Dallas does something person X disputes Jerry is pulling the strings.

I'm just trying to figure out how I can get my cake and eat it too.

Welcome to the CowboysZone! This is how we roll!!

If something that I like happens..........Jerry had nothing to do with it.

If something that I dislike happens...........it's all Jerry's fault! :laugh1:

You must not been around too long SDogo :)

Its a given...when things go bad...its Jerry....

When things go well.....its someone else...

Player drafted thats a posters fav......must be JG......or someone else...

We draft a player that causes a  ........its Jerry.

Spot on.

People will always claim it's Jerry when it's a pick they don't like.

Not true, Murray is a redzone stud and I bet Garrett was in favor with Jerry. We picked OL 1st round and a stud redzone back in rd 3, Garrett is involved don't worry, get unconfused. We need better protection for Romo and we need to score more near the goaline. We adressed those area's in Rd1 & 3.

Personally I just think people are hoping our draft philosophy has changed with Garrett. We pick OL for the first round for the first time in Jerry's history of the Cowboys, so people think things are changing. Then we pick the usual high risk injured person followed by the usual wth moment. And people are asking once again, are things changing? Just my guess.

I wasn't the biggest proponent of the pick, but with Boling still on the board, I'm feeling okay.

I like all the picks so far. Would have preferred Moffit in the 3rd, but oh well.

You have to run between the tackles in this league to be a redzone stud and he is nowhere close to being able to do that.

IMO, this draft is Garrett's draft all the way, regardless of whether people on the board agree with all the picks. If you step back, the overall theme of this draft so far has been to increase team speed and athleticism. We're a dome team now so it plays to our advantage to have a faster team both offensively and defensively.

If you look at the backs we've had high grades on in recent years (Felix, Lesean Mccoy, Spiller, and the running back from Cal last year), they've are all fast and can catch out of the backfield. Murray seems to fit this mold. I think this is clearly Garret's preference in the RB position and he's probably wanted another RB in the Felix mold.

Also, I'm glad we got our OL in round 1. This draft has again reenforced that we are very gun shy about taking OL in rounds 2 and 3.

Well, no ****. Murray is a guy that can catch passes out of the backfield, Mike Mayock said he is a very good pass blocker (which we need), and I'm pretty sure he could play the slot position if needed.

It may not be everyone's favorite pick, but I personally like it as we need a running back that can pass block. I'm sick of seeing Witten staying sometimes to help pass block. Was it too early? Yes, but I'm pretty sure there will be some solid offensive lineman and defensive lineman left in the later rounds.

Why are you confused that some people are more irrational than others?

Ok, totally off topic but every time you post I mean to ask it.

Who is that in your avatar?

The draft is not over.Don't getting hung up on sexy Mel Kiper pick names like John Moffit. You can get fantastic guards in rds 4-7 and through undrafted free agency. We picked up our stud LT of the future in RD 1. Chill out man, go with the flow.

That's where we having been getting our OL for years and how is that been working out for us?

I'm not in the war room so I don't assign individual blame. I say as a whole, the cowboys whiffed on their 3rd rounder. I can live with Carter, but Murray :bang2:
