I'm Confused

So Garrett had no input on the Choice pick when it was made? The OL coach gets to practically make the call on our #9 overall but the offensive coordinator isn't consulted when we take a fourth round RB?

I personally don't think Choice is anything special, and I don't love his attitude, but you could make a great argument he's at least as good a player as Murray. At least he can run inside.

Considering the OC is also the HC I would bet he had more to say about it then anyone.

He might be the ONLY 3rd string RB in the league not to contribute on special teams. It creates roster issues and game day decisions that should not have to be made.

'3rd string running back' who does a better job of it than the over-priced 'starter'.

And then folks wonder how or why Choice could have any sort of 'attitude problem'?

What causes the 'roster issues' is defiantly and foolishly trotting a 'starter' out there who doesn't come close to getting the job done.

If your 3rd string RB who typically would play special teams cant or wont you have to carry a player on the active roster you might otherwise not need in lieu of a player that could contribute.

I was talking about when the Choice pick was made.

I will agree with this, but about this time 3 years ago, most of us on this board were gushing about Choice being the steal of the draft. He went off on the Steelers in his rookie year, and then all of a sudden he couldn't play RB anymore because he wasn't a stud on special teams. Odd? Now we are tearing him down to justify this new running back we just selected. What special teams has Murray ever played? KR, we have them on the team, better ones too.

As for blaming Jerry, well for about the last 17 years or so, we have had to put up with his cuteness, Kendal Watkins, remember him, selected in the second round to be a blocking TE, with intentions of moving him to guard. How about Skyler Green, Stanback, Jason Williams, etc, no matter who the HC is, these same stupid, project choices are a constant, just like Jerry is.

This whole thread is irrelevant.

Whatever you think of Felix, Barber or Choice, this team was not 6-10 last year because of their play. You could keep all three if you wanted to, spend your draft and free agency resources on other areas like Oline, Dline and secondary, and be a much better team.

I'll be the first to say that Barber should be gone, Choice is a JAG IMO, and as much as I like him Felix was not worth a 1st round pick. Doesn't change the fact that you have guys at other positions playing much worse than any of these 3.

It was simply not a year when addressing RB was a priority in the top 3 rounds.

And who gives a flyin' fig about special teams?!?!?

Get a scrub to play 'em if you're not happy with Choice!

scrub=3rd string RB=Choice=scrub that can't or won't to play special teams.

I will not be surprised at all if BOTH Barber and Choice are not on the roster come opening day.

jason looked happy as well with the DM pick
He had no choice. The idiot Jerruh said Murray was a good pick because Switzer told him so.

Then the question I have to ask is why has Garrett 'never been a fan of Choice'?

All the guy does is produce when given the chance.

I fail to see how spending a 3rd round pick on another running back makes sense.

And what does this say about using a first round pick on Felix Jones?

What has he really produced? Even Julius Jones had a 200 yard game. Choic has looked ok but he's never been special.

After the Tyron Smith pick it was clearly stated that Jason Garrett really did have control in this draft but after the DeMarco Murray pick Jerry is the idiot now in charge.

So is it when Dallas something person X agrees with Jason now has control but when Dallas does something person X disputes Jerry is pulling the strings.

I'm just trying to figure out how I can get my cake and eat it too.
Make no mistake about it.Jerry is pulling the strings on all of this.I think Jerry should be given his just do on the 1st round pick of Smith.Great pick.I also think he needs to be criticized for hid 2nd and 3rd rounders.

First, anyone with half of a brain that follows the sport. Second, Bill Parcells. Third, Sean Payton wants to dump a truck full of rotting shrimp shells in your formal dining room on Christmas to remind you of the second half kick off of the Saints Super Bowl win.

Please go post "who cares about special teams" on the San Diego forums and see what they have to say about that.

#1 overall offense, #2 overall passing offense, #1 overall defense, #1 overall pass defense, #4 overall rushing defense.

How'd they do in the playoffs? Oh yeah, they didn't make the playoffs in no small part to having one of the league's worst special teams units.

While we're on your myopic view of special teams, go take a look at the fourth quarter of our week 5 game last year. Let me know how unimportant special teams looks then.

Jeebus, seems no one remembers our dismal starting field position on defense under Bruce Read.

Provided Leonard Davis can get out and block.........which he can't.......so no, he can't be anything close to Brian Westbrook.

Damn. If only we had a decent blocking tight end or two, or even maybe had drafted a right tackle that could maybe do something like that. Damn, damn, damn.

Sweet. Tyron's gonna take things from being putrid to being excellent all by himself.

I might have to revise my draft grade. If Smith is the only difference from last year and everything is going to be sunshine and rainbows like you'd have me believe, I think I need to grade the draft an A+.

Quit being such a bunch of babies. *****. So we didn't take the players you liked. Big deal. At least wait until the pads go on before throwing tantrums about the players we did get.

If you paid attention, Garrett came out and told you not to expect this team to draft for need.

I didn't really like ANY players. I don't really follow college football all that much but I follow the Cowboys enough to know that they didn't need to draft a RB.

Sometime it isn't about drafting or not drafting someone's pet cat. Sometimes its about making stupid decisions.

Nope, just taking a crap on your hyperbole-filled negative tirade that nothing we'll do in this draft will improve our team one iota.

Thanks for proving my first response was right on the money.
