I'm done with the Romo Bashing- What did you learn about this team?

we have zero depth. once a starter goes down the talent level drops dramatically.

It depends on the position.

We are deep at RB.

We are deep at TE.

We actually look deep on the DL right now.

We are deep at QB.


We are thin at OL - too many young guys right now who aren't quite ready. Some of those guys have to play this year (Nagy, Tyron could also use a year in the weight room and with Houck as he is only 20).

We are thin in the secondary. But we are better off than I thought at the start of the year with the signings of Elam and Sensabaugh. Church actually looks like he can play which I didn't think was possible last year. Ball looked okay at corner and McCann tries really hard.

We are thin at ILB until Carter comes off the PUP list.

This team has better HC then last year but the OC still sucks at play calling and using the right personnel.

I don't see a single back up who could challenge a starter for playing time. Not even the 2nd kicker.

I think we learned what we already knew.

They are good enough to beat any team in the NFL and they are sloppy enough to lose to any team in the NFL as well.

If we can keep our defensive backs somewhat healthy, our defense looks like it might be pretty good again. If we keeping getting stuck with our fifth cornerback 1-on-1 against the other team's best receiver on a crucial play late in the game, however, then the defense probably is only slightly better than last year.

And I'd add I currently have more faith in Rob than Wade or Pasqualoni adjusting to McCann and Ball as your corners late in the game.

That's not a good way to judge depth. It might just mean that you don't have a decent starter. And if you've got an All-Pro starter, even the best backup in the league isn't going to challenge him for playing time.

Besides, Jason Hatcher was listed a backup and started in front of Marcus Spears. Sean Lee was listed as a backup and started in front of Keith Brooking. Some people think Victor Butler should start ahead of Anthony Spencer, or at least take away some of his snaps. And Dockery could move past Nagy at any time.

Maybe, but we still had McCann trying to cover Burress by himself on the TD early in the fourth quarter after we had the Jets facing third-and-10. If Ryan did adjust, it didn't happen early enough.

Oh I expect him to make tactical errors from time to time. I just don't think it would be as frequent as under the prior regime. JMO.
