I'm excited about Dallas football again...

So it was his fault that Crayton dropped a pass and then quit running on that 4th down pass. It is his fault that TO dropped a first down pass. It is his fault that Hurd dropped that crossing route where he could have gone at least 40-50 yds if not for the TD. It is his fault that Fasano dropped a TD pass. It is his fault that Barber ran out of gas in the second half. It is his fault the OL quit blocking in the second half. It is his fault that Reeves got raped by the lesser Steve Smith just before halftime.

Garrett called a good game against the Giants. Romo played a good game against the Giants. It isn't their fault the receivers were dropping critical passes or the OL wasn't blocking.
...........HUGE COSIGN!

After we got rid of the Team Cancer and the chunky safety, my pessismism about this team has changed to optimism.

you should curb your excitement a little or at least wait to see if ANYTHING is evident on the FIELD.

we have among the worst head coaches in football.

an OC who can't outscheme a 3rd grader taking remedial reading classes.

a team where undisciplined play is it's trademark

you expect some newfound running game when you forget Felix had no carries vs Wash. (loss)

you expect things that won't materialize.

Sure we cut 3 cancers but the three stooges are still running dallas (jerry, wade & jason). sorry to be a buzzkill, you should at least entertain realiity in all your excitement.

I don't expect them, just hope by some miracle they happen.

Why is that?

First because I'm really excited about what this football team can do with Wade Phillips for a whole off season, and from day 1 in the next season. I mean I'm upset we aren't doing more in the secondary, and that we haven't released Ellis, but there is always draft time. Hopefully Ellis will be a June 1st cut, or maybe we can get something for him on draft day.

But back to why I'm excited. Just the thought of us using all three running backs. Can't understand why we didn't even try using Jones and Choice this year, but I think its obvious now that we're going to feature an offensive system that is basically a 3 headed running monster.

Felix Jones as the starter, used in a similar way hopefully to Brian Westbrook. This guy can be a great safety valve, but probably even more than that. His speed, truly makes the defense respect the running game. Can hit a homerun anytime during the game.

Tashard Choice as a change of pace running back, and football's equivalent of a relief pitcher. Has the elusivity and power to move the chains. Great change up between Jones' carries.

Marion Barber as the football's equivalent of a closer. Marion Barber fits the description of a relief pitcher (closer specifically), to a tee. He is best suited for this role, and coming into games 100%, when the opposing defenses are already tied after chasing and being beaten up by Jones and Choice respectively, he'll return to form and just dominate.

Wade Phillips is still our head coach! So we're not going to winn any playoff games.

I cannot believe y'all hated T.O. so much, that y'all let wade off the hook.

Anyone should feel excited by this team.

However, with Jerry as HC and GM and Wade as the apologist for poor play, poor discipline and wanting to be liked by his players, it turns into a mediocre team at best.

8-8 if the O line gels.

Oh, and there is a maxim in the NFL: Never intentionally lose your best playmaker because some players are hurt by his words.

Not only let him off the hook but have made him a hero.
And I have no idea why.

Week before last I said I would not wear any Cowboy shirts/caps or buy anything realted to the Cowboys, including tickets to a game, until they straightened out this mess! Well, I'm happy to say that my mind has definitely changed!

Go COWBOYS!!

Dallas lost Demarcus Ware?

Oh, you mean offensive playmaker. Like when Dallas lost Duane Thomas? Or Calvin Hill a few years later? Or Herschel Walker? Or when the Pats lost Curtis Martin? Or when the whiner's lost Montana?

Sure, there is plenty of cases where teams lost their best offensive playmaker and it hurt them. Plenty of other cases where it didn't.

I will make a sig bet with anyone on this board - the dallas cowboys WILL win a playoff game next season. With wade phillips as head coach and garrett as the off. coordinator, and with the to circus in Buffalo.

We're young, and we had a great draft last year. One more solid draft like that and we'll have some young, eager to prove guys that are playing for contracts. I like those guys a lot more than 30 somethings that just got paid.

By Sept. 5, 2009...

Flozell Adams - 34yrs
Kyle Kosier - 30yrs
Andre Gurode - 31yrs
Leonard Davis - 31yrs
Marc Colombo - 30yrs

"With the 51st pick in the draft, The Dallas Cowboys select tackle William Beatty University of Connecticut."

What mess have they straightened out? We still have a Head Coach who lets Garrett do whatever he wants, he allows Romo to just fling the ball around without jumping down his throat about it. We have an owner who makes all these moves with different types of players, yet he refuses to address the real problem and that's a coach who will run the entire show from top to bottom, and a coach who is pure greatness.

He won't do that because he wants his share of the success. He doesn't want any coach to out shine him. He hated having Parcells' here because Parcells did it his way, and Jerry had very little say, although he still had some say so.

We still have a QB that we've all but crowned a God around here. Hey, I loved me some Romo around these parts, but after this past season and watching the fans turn on an awesome talent, but yet allow someone who is constantly screwing this offense up to slide right on by, I don't think so.

If we can turn on someone for complaining, then I will turn on someone for sucking. I'd much rather have someone who complains and is great on the field, than someone who's quiet, and sucks on the field. But as long as we feel like we have 53 of our buddies playing out there, we're happy.

wah... wah.. wah.... I'm feeling a little optomism after what's happened this past week and you are not ruining it for me. I realize there's more work to do.

Go cry in another thread....

What am I crying about? The truth will be told from my mouth this year whether it hurts or not, if you can't handle it, ban me or log off.

Jerry loves fans like you who are easily conned.

He's only now marginally correcting mistakes that should never have been made to begin with. All grave mistakes of his doing. Pac man was "jiving" and a "nothing incident" remember. This is your owner you are paying.

After the removal of pac & TO i have a am no longer completely ashamed of the cowboy organization - steps in the right direction were taken - just not nearly enough. Not even close. Jerry is a complete embarrassment as an owner. For example what he did a few weeks ago to Reeves was deplorable. Doubling down keeping Wade/Jason (over $9mil + real HC/OC salary really) is insulting to fans and nothing but an ego trip.

i won't spend a dime on the cowboys however, not giving jerry one penny until he removes himself from football operations. sorry. don't know of any cowboy fans around here who feel differently either.

Great post. I've watched that game more than a few times and I don't know how any knowledgeable football fan bashes Romo after that game. Garrett's playcalling was good for the most part as well. If a couple of those unforced errors don't occur, we win. But many players "dropped the ball" literally and figuratively and Romo is the "choker". Just stupid.

I cannot wait to see this offense. Romo, Witten, Barber, Felix, Austin, Bennett, Choice and even Crayton. We have plenty of weapons. We just need to shore up this safety situation on D. My fingers are crossed for another great draft. A young, hungrier team next year should be fun to watch.

It's just nice to have two less situations that are forced but don't work.. TO and Roy.. At least you know it won't be another year of trying the exact same formula and we won't have to listen to the media looking to create as much drama about 1 player

Perhaps I am in the minority...but I see a good Cowboys football team...it needs work but it is still a good team

Im excited and a little nervous. I am looking forward to see what Romo and this offense can do without a "star" receiver. GAHHHHHH HOW EXCITING...AND NERVE RACKING.

There's the rub.
