OH Yeah, Jerry had plenty of guts by telling Tom Landry AFTER the media reported that Jimmy Johnson was hired as head coach. You don't know what you're talking about.

Secondly, we're not talking about the signing of "one player" We are talking about the only NFL player to EVER mock 55,000 Dallas fans in Big D while standing on the star. I can't quit the Cowboys over that, but I will suspend watching any games while that Cowboy hater is in the uniform. I can't believe any fan would stick around for this.
From Tom Landry to Terrell Owens... That is quite a stretch.

KEEP THAT PUKE OFF MY TEAM!!!

T.O. is complete trash and he will tarnish this teams reputation is he is signed, I will remain a fan but feel that part of the luster of the Dallas Cowboys will be lost when TO puts on that jersey. and no, its not the same as Irvin or others with problems in the past, those guys problems came when they got here, now we are going to bring in a guy with obvious problems who can't keep his mouth shut not matter what, for an extended period of time. As stupid as it is I will never get over him standing in the star and acting like a complete show-boat and jerk during that 49rs game, never.

The Cowboys have allways been above the rest of the leauge, America's Team, for as long as TO is here (if he comes here) i dont think we can look at the team in the same way.

I agree with most of the things the orignal poster had to say, but i will always be a Cowboy fan, even when I disagree with some of their personel decisions.

I can't help but throw this out there.

If the fact that the team "May Sign" a player you don't like is going to make you boycott watching the games. Who are you hurting? I mean that is about the most extreme punishment I could put myself through. So do you slap yourself when Traffic is slow?

You either love the Boys or ya don't, You can't tell me anything to make me agree to boycott my team or stop watching games. I will be there at TC the same as last year, Now I won't be buying any TO jerseys but that is about the extent of my boycott. OH yeah If he is signed the first touchdown will be for you the same as it will for me.

PS> I don't like the guy either.

Your right, I could say I wouldn't watch, and have been since the rumors started. But honestly, as big as my hatred of Owens is, my love for the Cowboys runs much deeper. I could never get over the whole star thing, never!

I'm glad everybody is happy. I live from news to news and from Cowboy site to Cowboy site. I subscribed to the Cowboy Weekly when it first came out many years ago. I also bought Kiper, etc every predraft Spring.

Now, I'm not proud of the Cowboys any more and while my respect for JJ has flucuated over the years, I have not always liked Parcells but I have always respected him -- until now.

I really don't care how many posters come on here and tell me that I am not "a true Cowboy fan". There are a lot of "real true" Cowboy fans that are not dry behind the ears yet, but still know what true fans are and what they aren't. You are wasting your time talking to me about what is true and what isn't. I don't care.

It isn't just the signing of TO but the way Key was treated. Key gave his all. He never slacked off. He fought for the ball. He blocked for the other WRs and RBs. He was the complete WR for us.

JJ and BP proved they have no loyalty to anybody but themselves. I am not for keeping any player and over paying him when he can no longer contribute. Was Key worth his salary last year? In the economy of WRs he certainly was.
He was a leader on and off the field. He was a lot like Irvin. He fired a team up. He never quit.

Only one other time since 1960 was I tempted to quit the Cowboys and that was when JJ fired Landy. I thought it was time for Landry to retire but the way it was handled hurt. Now, the WR and probably the player most hated by Cowboy fans until he became available, is now a Cowboy. It makes me want to puke.

Well, I won't be checking these sites much any more because I am not interested in what TO is doing. You will see that this is no longer Jerry's or BP's team. Every sportswriter will write about TO from henceforth. There are a lot of things more enjoyable that reading about TO or watching him celebrate and all the fans fawning over him.

Whatever happens to the Cowboys, Jerry and Bill will deserve it--some of you fans will too.

Now, please everybody tell me again about Snyder and how he throws money after the big names. I would much rather have his smurfs--anyday.

i am totally feeling this post, man.

i fear for the future of the cowboys. whatever happens....jerry will deserve it.

maybe it will turn out good, but i'm not optimistic.

Coach Landry is one of my heroes, but you need to do a little history homework in regards to how Mr. Jones let Coach go. Tex played a role in how it was handled and as GM, he should have done it. But it put it off on Jerry who was man enough to tell Coach to his face.
You BOTH should do a little research on how it happened.

Jerry let it be known that if he was approved to buy the team, he would be bringing in a NEW coach with him. When the sale was approved, Landry RAN OFF to Austin, before he could be officially told. He was "tracked down" by some reporters out on the golf course and told that he'd been fired. (which was not true...)
Landry refused to answer his phone and refused to come back to Dallas so that Jerry could not tell him the news that he already knew.

Landry's childish actions caused me to lose a lot of respect for him.

Key predicted this. He know this is a business, and he's not upset according to all I've read.

Your are correct, and my understanding is Key is going to find out the market value and give the Cowboys the 1st shot to sign him back.

This is a win/win for us IMO!
