I'm off the 'trade for Chad' bandwagon

That is exactly why I don't like them.

I did the Billy "White Shoes" Johnson just like every one of us who saw him score did. We all did Butch Johnson's "California Quake and Blazing 6 Guns." But once it became a penalty I quit enjoying them. I'm too greedy about the yards.

Chad Johnson has been the biggest head-case, bar-none, in this league, for many, many, many years now. Why anybody would want him over Boldin or even Williams, has always been beyond me. IMO even Pac-Man and Tank, have always had their stuff together 100x more than this guy. Just because one vs the other was never involved in the criminal aspect doesn't mean they've got it any more together. Every player on our team is very well put together and well rounded compared to this pure 'n plain attention seeker.

I openly admit that I don't like TD celebrations much. Now and then some of them are genuinely funny. Owens filming behind the goalpost for example.

He cracks me up though. I can't help it.

Yeah, I actually like them sometimes... It reminds me of back in the day when he disrespected the star when he was with the niners and got his butt creamed.. that was funny too.

i would love to see him score a TD this season then run to midfield, get on his hands and knees and kiss the star... that would be awesome.

See, I wouldn't. I think that would draw a 15 yard flag and I don't want that.

I'm too stingy with the yards.

I love them, as long as they are comical... I also like them when they are akin to the electric shake by Givens on the Oilers back in the day...

To say that Chad is more of a headcase because of the way he is trying to get out of Conncinatti versus the way TO got himself out of Philly is laughable.

TO is fine since he has been here but he was a headcase in Philly as big as Chad is in Cinn.

I don't want Chad because of his age and would gladly have Boldin or Williams in front of him but I don't agree that his actions are any worse than what TO pulled to get out of Philly.

But wait, you missed the video because you still think he wants out of Cincy.

What the video in the original post. Now he wants to stay in Cincy!

Unless there is a new video somewhere that dropped in the last 24 hours where he went back to saying he wants out of Cincy.

:bang2:

I saw the video. He basically said all those things to try to get Cinn to get rid of him. He said in the video that he was bluffing. It did not work so now he is trying to get back in the graces of his team and the fans.

TC= Training camp

I think I am slowly climbing off that bandwagon as well. He sure is talented but man, I don't think TO was ever that crazy.

It is a ploy...as in Klinger on MASH...get me out of here because I am crazy.....

well, I like chad johnson [talent wise], but I also am a Bengals fan, 2nd to Dallas of course.

I have never really been on his bandwagon, because I haven't seen where Jerry has shown any interest in him. I've seen where he has shown interest in us though.

I don't blame him.

If we were to acquire him I wouldn't hate it, but I would rather go after younger WRs to be opposite Owens.

I still think Roy Williams is coming. Call me stubborn. I won't deny it.
this season or next season?

I wouldn't be suprised if some of the ratings dropped when they started calling penalty's for celebrations. I know a few people used to watch the games just to see what T.O. or chad would do.

Well, I agree with that... unless it was the 4th quarter and we were up by 3 touchdowns with 5 min. to go.... then I would take the penalty just because it would be helluh funny.

Well I think their actions were/are the same... the only difference being that if Chad lands somewhere else and becomes unhappy he'll probablly be more likely to throw a big fit again because Cin-city is his one problem he's had in his career...

T.O. on the other hand threw a fit in Frisco when he called Jeff Garcia gay, and then griped that he wanted a "white" QB in Philly... he was on his last leg in the NFL by the time he got to us. Teams just felt he couldn't be made happy, and was just glad that the Cowboys gave him the opportunity to change his whinny rep.

Could Johnson turn out the same way and become a loyalist to his next team? Of course. I just say the odds are more stacked against him.

He has a great QB chunking him the ball now and he's not happy. Sure, the Bengals have a tradition of underachieving (half of my family is from Cincinatti so half of them are Bengal fans so I've heard enough from them)...

But, even if he landed on a good team, how happy will he be once they start losing again? Is he gonna whine about it and refuse to suit up? Afterall, what is success anyway? The Bengals (despite their troubles) had the 7th rated pass offense in the league last year (if I remember right that is) so if he is unhappy there, then it only leaves 6 other teams that even stand a chance to make him happy (but for how long?)

Why is Chad unhappy. Is it really because he thinks he is not getting enough balls his way or is it really because his team is losing. If they are losing and he is not getting the ball he seems unhappy. If they are winning it is not as big of deal it seems. His productivity over the last 3 years is in the top 3 in the league in receptions and yards. Certainly he is not saying he wants that to be better.

He just wants to be on a winning team.

TO did all of his antics right after they went to the Superbowl. He was on a winning team and still was not happy - he was not getting paid enough, not getting his due respect and so forth. More of a headcase IMO. I am sure glad he matured from that point!

When did T.O. gripe that he wanted a "white" QB in Philly?

Those comments are way off base.
