I'm pretty optimistic that we'll be drafting in top 10 next year

.. that we will be drafting top 10 next year. That said, who besides Mariota and Winston will be available at 1-10?

We have a tougher schedule than last year and will be fortunate enough to see 8-8. 6-10 is more likely. There are sooooo many questions and so few absolutes going into training camp. This truly feels like a cleverly disguised rebuild. I'm sure there will be plenty that tell me I am sooooo far off base. It feels pretty accurate though.

While anything can happen, I think you hitting on the schedule is the real key here.

The addition of a solid guard and perhaps a solid edge rusher still leaves a lot of picks Dallas took with huge question marks.

Was this Dallas team two players away from being much better? I don't believe so.

Further, Lawrence has question marks about his endurance during a game when a tackle will be leaning on him in running plays. I've seen the highlights, but still believe this guy might be nothing more than a third down pass rush specialist.

Street intrigues, but it comes from a mature interview he gave and nothing I have seen from the player in highlights. He could be pedestrian as I believe most of the picks Dallas made are.

So a tough schedule and very little progress in the draft and FA - Melton will be a plus - and it spells 5-11 or 6-10 and a top ten or eleven pick in 2015.

I hope the rest of the NFL thinks this a well.

It's not like I'm basing this off past seasons or anything ... But I got a hunch we'll be 8-8.

Well I think this would be a great time to suggest a big leap off the ol' Cowboy bandwagon. Never too late!

I don't think we will be picking in the top 10.... hopefully we will be picking 32nd but more than likely between 15-20

I would be fine with that to be honest. It may take a really bad year to shake things up here and get a quality coach. Although, it hasn't always worked in the past.

Why is it that as soon as someone questions the escalated dreamlike state in here (AKA excitement & hope) they are pegged as fans that have somehow given up? That's wrong on so many levels. We have seen this story over and over and over. The signs continue to exist. Ignoring those signs will not make them magically disappear.

I refuse to believe our defense will be that bad again. Even if they finish 25 we can be in every game with this offense. Call me a homer but our offense is too good to lose that many games. All we need is a slight improvement in d. Schedules don't mean anything til the season is played. Injuries and reality set in and teams that were good last year may not be next year.

I just don't see the talent on this team being good enough to keep us out of the top 10-13.

The only thing giving me hope is the offense but so much rides on Romo's back.

The defense just looks pitiful though.

I always appreciate a rational answer. Thanks. I also deep down inside hope we draft 32nd next year but hope is much different than feel.
