I'm pretty optimistic that we'll be drafting in top 10 next year

Wow some of you Cowboys fans.....

Look we went 5-0 in the division before Romo got injuried. Greatly improved OL helps us possibly sweep the division.

The odds of us sweeping the division is slim to none. We got lucky the rest of the division sucked as bad as we did last year. Don't count on that again.

Also, our Oline was just fine last year and we still sucked on offense. I loved the Martin pick and that should make an already good oline better, but don't kid yourself, this team is far away from going anywhere.

Just assume the worst and hope you're wrong. IMO we are headed for 6-10.

See I can't because only thing Garrett has proved is 8-8. We will be at least .500

Only The Dallas Cowboys could go 5-1 in the division and lose it. I still can't believe it.

Well, it just so happened all of the teams we beat last year were below .500...and that included the whole NFC east wins. We got lucky they sucked worse than us... when we beat them anyway. Eagles got better at the end.

Yes. Exactly... We were the best at sucking the least. Something to hang our hats on...lol

That is a good assumption based on the last 3 seasons...except our schedule is tougher than it has been the last 3 seasons. I have lost all hope with JG and Romo leading the show.

I hope I don't see him take a hit. If he does, I know he will get up, wipe some dirt on it and try to play. Just like he did with a punctured lung, a broken collarbone and a ruptured disk.

I have no doubts about the boy's toughness. Just hope he doesn't have to endure that this year.

If his back slows down his escape ability, he is going to get hurt really bad.

I remember hearing the same thing, or schedule is too hard. It's tougher then last season and after injuries and last ranked defense we still got 8-8.

One thing this team has consistently done is been .500

We went 5-1 in our division last year so that wasnt a problem, the problem came outside the division. This year, imo, our schedule is much tougher with having to play the NFC West, NO, Indy, Chicago and the Texans.
AFC West killed us last year. KC, Denver, SD all playoff teams.

First Manziel now Mariota or Winston, is it ever going too end lol

We need a qb someday. With Romo's contract, it really wasn't feasible to bring Manziel in this year, not to mention none of these qb's was really worth a 1st rounder. Next year your looking at your draft qb sitting behind Romo for only 1 year before he is reasonably expected to play.

It all depends on health, really. With a healthy Ware, Crawford, Bass, and Spencer last year, I think we are a good defense. So if this year, Demarcus can be even 3/4 of what we hoped for Ware, Crawford and Bass stay healthy, Melton is back to form, and we can continue to get good production from Selvie with good production from our pickups and drafts we will be much better on defense. Like I said it all depends on health. That's alot of ifs but that's what every season is about right?

I don't even know why people bother with predictions especially at this point. It's dicey even at the beginning of the season but at least at that point you have a good idea of what you are dealing with. Now just seems like it is an excuse to express your feelings and nothing more than that.

Yeah. That was when Jimmy Johnson was leading us into battle. We are far removed from anything close to Jimmy Johnson leadership prowess.
Well, then I guess it's just a lost cause. Why even bother to play? ...

Agreed. Dallas feasts on cupcake teams and we don't have many of those on the schedule this year.

If our schemes are a little better this year then maybe we can finally pick up a couple extra W's against elite opponents but if we come out with the same philosophy of we're just going to line up and beat the guy across from us then it will be a long season.

Linnehan and Marinelli cant be so basic with this squad.

The fan in me would absolutely hate to see Dallas picking in the top ten. It would mean a miserable season. Long term, having a top ten selection in each round and maximizing those picks could actually be what gets Dallas out of that trend of perennially being average.

We're building on the lines so if these guys pan out then that is truly our best shortcut to being better then average but I too would rather have a top 10 pick then win 8 games and fail in our final game.

LOL. If we sucked on offense last year then that means in the entire league there was approximately 5 or 6 teams tops that didn't suck on offense.

.. that we will be drafting top 10 next year. That said, who besides Mariota and Winston will be available at 1-10?

We have a tougher schedule than last year and will be fortunate enough to see 8-8. 6-10 is more likely. There are sooooo many questions and so few absolutes going into training camp. This truly feels like a cleverly disguised rebuild. I'm sure there will be plenty that tell me I am sooooo far off base. It feels pretty accurate though.

Unless we lose Romo.
We are a perennial lock for middle of the pack drafts.

As is always the case. If we win "should win" games it could swing to 10-6 or 11-5 record.
