You mean how they passed up Brady Quinn? How good do you have to be to win a Super Bowl? As good as Eli? A guy with a career 77 qb rating? Or as good as Trent Dilfer? Or Brad Johnson? I'm sorry I just don't share this opinion. I don't know what has gone on in Dallas where we want to get rid of Romo but we need to get off it. Its October. If Romo goes 3-1 or 4-0 in December than what? Do we still need another qb? You guys are jumping the gun a bit. Give Romo the season than judge him.

Romo's had three seasons and the outcome is the same. Terrible play down the stretch and in the playoffs.

Eli may have a 77 career qb rating, but he makes the plays when he has to. Go look up his numbers in the month of December and during the playoffs, and then compare them to Romo. Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson..well, sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

Romo hasn't been very lucky.

And when it matters, he hasn't been very good.

You mean how Romo came in outplaying the competition as well? Its easy to do that when no one has film footage on you. You start to get film footage and realize that Sanchez is careless with the football and you get what you saw today.

So what film is it that helps the defenses make Romo throw passes in front of receivers and well above their head?

That sounds like some sort of Belichick device.

i have been rough on romo the past 6 months. i get very frustrated because i see so much talent and potential...and then the results he has been producing is just :bang2:

however, i do believe he can still be a good qb with proper coaching. i think that is the key to romo...it's too bad he will not get it with the current staff.

We need to try to see the positive things that this season give us.

Get rid of romo, phillips and get a real qb and a real coach

Fair enough but let's not sit here and act like he's done this his whole career. He's been doing it for about two weeks now and its uncharacteristic of him.

But at this point in time, with a lesser receiving corps and with the full realization that tony has to step it up, he has to be making these throws.

Bingo!

Everybody stay chilly - this is all part of Romo's secret master rescheduling plan to 'turn the tables'. He's expending his sucky performances, normally slated for December and January, EARLY - and will roll out his spectacular September-October play at the END OF THE SEASON... when it really counts.

I only wish I'd thought of it first... it's positively brilliant!

:D

Just quit making excuses for the guy, he is what he is, he can't turn up the intensity for the big games, he can't stop himself from throwing stupid passes in big games, he does not inspire his offense with a we can't lose feeling, he has no real "A" game, the guy had a 10 point lead and all he had to do was not muck it up (1 fumble turnover, 1 interception) in close games against real talent thats all it takes to go home the loser, just once i'd like to see him step up and be what generations have known as a Dallas QB, a leader, a Captain Come Back, a QB that instills in you a feeling of having a chance to win no matter who you play, not one that you sit on pins and needles waiting to see how he is gonna kike it up this time, the Cowboys are my team, have been for almost 50 years now i'm too damn old to change and won't, but now i am reaching a point in my life sadly where i don't know if i will live long enough to see my Cowboys winners again and get that feeling back of not fearing they are gonna lose every week, but look forward to seeing how they win this week, this Gomer Pyle bs has to stop one way or another, with him at the helm or someone else, I don't care about the excuses any more, i'm tired of feeling like a whipped pup every sunday because this moron can't put it togeather for 60 mins once a week, yes he is the best of the 3 QB's we have on the roster but that doesn't make him the answer, the only thing he managed to do once again today is break my heart, but no more Gomer, the rest of the season i am gonna watch figuring the game is lost and if you win it will be a surprise but only for a few hours with no added anticipation that you can do it again next week, I have been fooled enough, he is what he is.......

Eli had one good playoff run. Every December and in every other playoff game, he has flopped.

In 2005, he had a 64.1 rating in December and a 35.0 rating in a playoff loss.

In 2006, he had a 79.1 rating in December and an 85.6 rating in a playoff loss.

In 2007, he had a 71.2 rating in December.

In 2008, he had a 69.8 rating in December and a 40.7 rating in a playoff loss.

His career rating in December is 68.6. In the playoffs, it's 77.6 -- and that's including his one good playoff run after the 2007 season (it's 48.4 in his other playoff games).

With all that said Romo would love to be in his shoes.

But Eli fits their system perfectly. They play to his strenghts or lake thereof. Our coaching has no friggin clue what our players seem to be capable of and not capable of. Just draw up plays in Madden and send out the cavalry.

Are you people blind? The man doesnt have it. He is no better then Derek Anderson. He cant even complete a 10 yard slant. He is getting worse with each game.He is a lifetime backup waiting to happen. He needs sat. He is not above it,Mccflabb was benched. 63 turnovers in 49 games. :banghead:

Benched for who???

Kitna???

He threw 20 picks his last season as a starter, he turns the ball over just as much as Romo and only has about half the arm strengh as well.

McGee???

The rookie from A&M that was what, a 4th round pick or something. Yea, he is going to light the league up.

So if Romo is not the long term QB, who is???

Well half the arm strength must mean that the passes won't sail high!

I am personally convinced that TONY ROMO is not the QB of the future for the Dallas Cowboys.

So what are you suggesting???

We went through 17 different starting QBs between Aikman and Romo. How do we know it will not take another 17 QBs before we find our next "franchise QB"?

You say draft a rookie and point to Sanchez or Stafford or Flacco as proof that a rookie can hit the ground running. The problem is that the guy we draft could turn out to be the next Ryan Leaf or David Klingler or Kordell Stewart, ect....

You willing to roll the dice and draft a QB in the 1st round, give him a $50 million dollar contract, and then wait a couple of years to see if we hit the lotto? What if we guess wrong and the guy is a scrub, then we have to start all over again.

By that time most of our starters will be well over 30 and will need replacing. Say hello to multiple 5-11 seasons again.

If it was so easy to find a franchise QB, then why do so many teams in the NFL need one???

I'm shocked there are still morons in here that think we're better off without Romo. I can't take this forum any more for a while, so all you people with no short term memory who love to hate on Romo and the team enjoy whining to each other. You are all running the rest of us off.
