Rush beat the Commanders, and only a fumble cost him last night's game.
You conveniently leave out facts.

You mean you were prepared to praise Cooper Rush for a play the special teams almost made against a below .500 team. In a game where he still couldn't get the Cowboys to score above 20 points. You keep on harping on Dak beating cellar dwellers. Yet were willing to give Rush the credit for beating a bad Giants team and still needing defensive TD to put them over the top in a game they barely won against an awful Giants team.

The whole reason for why the Bengals are below .500 and near the bottom of the AFC North is because of their bad defense. One Cooper Rush couldn't even score over 20 points on.

Every NFL team faces bad teams and cellar dwellers each season in the NFL. Yet no QB hungry team is even convinced enough by Rush to believe that he could be their starter for an entire season and even lead them to consistent wins over those cellar dweller teams. They don't even view Cooper Rush as a decent enough QB where he could start and get them enough wins over bad and below average teams enough for them to have a respectable W-L record like the Cowboys have had with Dak in most seasons.

The Lance experiment is the reason he has to play. Imagine if Jerry used that 4th better
Jerry is so stupid! Baker Mayfield was out there a few years ago and Darnold was out there after being coached by Shanahan. At the very least Cowboys should of brought those guys in to compete with Dak for the starting job. At this point both guys are better. Daks been getting worse.

I don't need to read your novel to know that Cooper Rush sucks.
First of all if you think that's a novel you need to go back to school and I really feel bad for you literally a couple paragraphs does not equal a novel and he doesn't suck he's just a very average backup he's not an elite backup he's not a great backup but he for sure plays pretty well given the circumstances you do realize that we lost almost our entire offensive line we don't have an elite running back I mean Rico is good but our #2 wide receivers are not getting open they're dropping footballs sure he looked like a backup last night and I mean that's exactly what people look like when they are who they are but he's not the worst backup in the league that's for sure he had us in a tie game and it was again special teams making a mistake or Rita actually been in without the block or if the block would have not been touched or if would have bounced behind the line of scrimmage instead of over this is a different game we could have been kicking a field goal for the win but you know what we're getting a better draft pick and no this is not a novel it's called a paragraph now it would be a book a very long book....

But I get the social media generation thinks that that's a novel and it is not a novel and it's not even my longest stuff...40-50K MIN.... word length =novel

A novel is a long, fictional story written in prose that typically features a complex plot, developed characters, and explores themes or ideas. Novels are a type of book that provide readers with a window into the human experience, often exploring the complexities of emotions, relationships, and societal issues.

Here are some characteristics of a novel:
  • Length: Novels are long and complex

  • Prose: Novels are written in prose, unlike works of epic poetry which use verse

  • Fiction: Novels are fictional or semi-fictional

  • Narrative: Novels tell a narrative story about a person or group within a setting

  • Characters: Novels feature developed characters
  • Plot: Novels typically feature a complex plot
  • Themes: Novels explore themes or ideas

The word "novel" comes from the Italian word novella which means "new kind of story".

Joe Burrow only put up 27.
It was 20-20 until the muffled punt.
Your argument has more holes than a sponge.

I don’t get why Jerry is unwilling to use a mid round pick on a QB. Since 2020, Dak has missed more games than any QB in the NFL.

11 games in 2020

5 games in 2022

9 games in 2024

Supplementing him with late picks or UDFA’s like Rush, Dinucci or QBs who busted out in other places like Lance and Grier is going to continue the woes the next time Dak goes down.

Dalton was a good backup QB. Dak was a good idea as a backup QB while Romo was the starter. Backup QB is a top 25 position on a football team. Treat it as such.

Rush beat the Commanders? You mean the Commanders who gave up 2 kick return TDs in a game that Dallas won by 8 points?

Seems like someone is conveniently leaving out that fact.
Yeah, like two field goals missed by Aubrey?
Think.
It helps some people.

Pretty sure one was blocked.. which I think gives the Cowboys 3 blocked FGs against them this season. Fassel will be looking for a job this offseason too. Last night's botch was just the latest screwup by the special teams. We should not let Aubrey and Turpin's brilliance blind us to the fact that Fassel's special teams have cost us several games since he got here.

I know Burrows is a damn good quarterback and better than Dak....

But I'm reading how you placed the reasoning of the Bengals being a bad team, due to a bad offensive line, bad defense and injuries?

How is it those are excuses for other teams quarterbacks, but not excuses for the Cowboys when our offensive line sucks, we don't have a talented receiving corp like the Bengals, our defense has sucked and we have had devastating injuries across the board??

You see where I'm going with this?

Again, by no means am I saying that Dak is Burrows.... but last year when Dak put an All-Pro season despite lacking offensive weapons except for CD.... it gets looked down upon. Then with a bad offensive line, bad defense, injuries....

He doesn't get those excuses. He supposed to overcome all that too. Ya feel where I'm coming from?
I think the difference is simply that Dak Prescott hasnt played well this year while Burrow has. One guy we are trying to give out excuses for poor play, while the other we are giving excuses for not winning games. Even without Tee Higgins playing Burrow threw for 428 yards 4TDs 0 INTs against Baltimore a few weeks ago. Burrow has played at an extremely high level with the exception of week 1 with a lack of talent around him. I don't disagree that Dak doesn't have a great situation around him, but I would argue that overall Dallas has more talent than Cincinnati overall.

Ultimately though this is why I hate the QB mega contracts we are seeing. We glamorize the QB and assign them so much blame and credit, but its a team effort to win a football game. Keep a quality team together and you can win a lot of football games even with a lesser QB. A star QB without a supporting cast makes it easier to sell jerseys and season tickets, but doesnt seem to be a clear path to wins. The top 5 paid QBs in the league all have losing records but 1 (Jordan Love).

Dak has had marquee talent around him and he can still only beat cellar dwellers.
He has hurt the Cowboys, not helped.
Those great stats came against bottom feeders or loose defenses in games he had already choked away.
They mean as much as the championships he has won- oops!

So you're saying Dak is the only quarterback in history who has selective stats? There's no other quarterbacks in the top 10 who have stats vs those same teams Dak played against?

What marquee talent did Dak have around him last year when he became an All-Pro?

Oh yeah, since you think Rush is better than Dak, why haven't 31 other coaches and GMs see what you claim to observe? Do you believe you know more about evaluating NFL quarterback talent than those professionals I've listed?

Yeah, this is why he’s not good
Rush is what he is. But the biggest difference between rush and dak is their paycheck.
