I'm starting to like the Deion idea

It wasn’t hard to recruit for Deion. Recruiting is what college football is all about and now they pay players too. Recruiting has little relevance to the pros. Saban sucked in the NFL. So did Urban Meyer.
College style recruiting may not be part of the pro game but being able to relate to players most certainly is.

One of the secrets of Al Harris’ success with the cowboys is that the DBs trust him. He’s been in their shoes, can relate to their experience and they trust him.

Deion has all of that turned up to 11.

I’m not saying he’s a great coach and his gameday management is, to be fair, largely unknown to me, but there’s no doubt that players would respect him and play hard.

The crap that Urban Meyer pulled would never, ever, been how Deion would handle things.

Here’s the issue with bringing Deion in. He’s a players coach. He has the ability to get players to play above their potential talent much like Bill Parcells did. The problem is, he doesn’t know X’s and O’s like some of the other younger, very sharp coaches in the league. And would be outcoached by the likes of a Belichick or Andy Reid. He would have no chance. You need to bring in a support staff that’s very Competent on both sides of the ball, both Offensively and defensively to accommodate the shortcomings that he would have. as for backbone, a mainstay in Dallas, a players coach, a motivator, and an inspiration he has all of that. But in today’s NFL, it’s all about analytics and strategy. And adjusting during the game. This is something he lacks. Time and experience he may get better at that. So if you’re going to bring him in you better have some real savvy coaches at the coordinator positions. Or it would be an absolute disaster.

He brings a certain respectability and winning attitude
Won't be a puppet
Won't stand for the nonsense they pull every year in free agency
Not many coaches will get the leeway he would
I see someone who can change the culture and force the tough decisions since Jerry and his kid seem incapable of it
He could bring a little bit of hope back to an organization that is desperate for it
Plus he's always had a good relationship with Jerry.

Seems fitting exactly 30 years after being this teams first FA.

Now compare a Moore hire to a Deion hire and how Jerry would handle both situations. It's really night and day. Sanders won't be tip toeing around Jerry and his kid.
I haven't been a Deion guy, but this makes a lot of sense.

If you’re rooting for the team to win - Deion is the furthest thing you should want.

If you just want to have fun following the team - Deion is the guy you should want.
Winning is foreign here. Many changes need to take place beyond just a different name at the HC position.

Yes. Walk around head coaches need elite coordinators. Everybody knows this. Head coaches that call plays need to be elite coordinators. That’s the game
Dan Campbell or John Harbaugh vs Andy Reid or Mike Shanahan ..........two who use both coordinators and two who could probably get by w/o an offensive coordinator. I guess it can work both ways

Fans and media will be surprised by the impact of Deion's interpersonal skills on players........as for respect, he commands it. Otherwise, he's going toe to toe with you. He has an aura of confidence that affects everyone around him.

I’m open to it but I don’t think it would work. I think maybe initially it would work but I think the players would grow tired of Deion and his ways really fast
