I'm staying a Cowboys fan, but my NFL interest is waning

Check out a local minor league hockey game in your area. I know many small cities surprisingly have local teams. The tickets are cheap and if you want to actually see hungry players that aren't entitled or pampered, you'll love it. ECHL level is pretty decent.

The Chiefs dominating the league has definitely made it less exciting for the rest of the teams fans and this happened during the Patriots run too.....its just a byproduct of dynasties

Oh I have. The Cleveland Monsters are fun to watch.

I'm a fan of all the Dallas area teams so it hasn't been as bad the last few years. The other three have been their respective sport final so they at least attempt to try to win. I'm also an Arsenal fan. They also try but they also let me down as well.

Well Bournemouth is an underdog story worth looking at haha.

If not winning trophies is going to cause your interest to wane, I’ve got bad news about your choice of an EPL team…

In fairness, my PL team is because I have a lot of family in the area there and I've been to the town a lot. Plus, who knows. Bournemouth has really been punching above their weight. They probably won't ever win a PL, but they are fighting above their weight. I just want to see the Cowboys try as hard as Bournemouth does.

I have Alabama (we are good in basketball and I hope we can get back on top in football) but I absolutely hate NIL and portal … in MLB I like the Braves, so that’s pretty solid … I used to like the Lakers (since Showtime days) but I can’t stand todays NBA … I don’t know enough about hockey or soccer to watch it

I am very blah on the NFL right now and am especially that way with Dallas …. I may have watched 2 full games this year … the offseason has made it worse

Poor Ala is done. No way they can keep up w/ the money pits of UT, ORE, PENN ST, OH ST, teams like that. It's already starting to show who has the deepest pockets.

I'm a Cowboys fan who can't bear to watch any more. I don't have the energy to look for another team, or sport. One sport, NFL football. One team, the Dallas Cowboys. It's been nearly 30 years since dominance, and I am simply taking a break.
I’m the same way…..I LOVE football so I do watch other games and side root for different teams a little, but at the same time wanting Dallas to win it all knowing Jerry isn’t willing to do what it takes….frustrating as hell. But I don’t really watch other sports, I’m a football nut, so I make the best of it to get SOME enjoyment out of a season if the Cowboys flounder. Go Bills for SURE this year.

I agree. And for me what kills my interest is the arrogance of the front office. I don't like them acting like they're the smartest people in the room and treating the fanbase like they're stupid. The losing last year would not have bothered me if they didn't try to sell this team as something it was not and then refuse to address the roster while stating they were all in. It's a slap in the face. I'll be able to cheer for Schotty though seems like a great guy.

Football is the only team sport where I will literally watch any team as long as it's a good matchup. Pure love for the sport itself and most of the players so the game goes on even if the cowboys aren't good.

The local Dallas NHL team (Stars) are fun to watch and it's not hard to get weekday tickets last minute for around $30. Huge MMA fan as well, probably one of less than 1000 people in the entire world that has watched every single UFC PPV in the company's existence.

I will continue to watch the Cowboys on TV as much as I ever have, and the rest of the NFL as well.
Over 50 years of being a Cowboys fan, the 70s were great, the 80's were a challenge, the 90's were great, the 2000's fwd have been more of a challenge.
Will not change teams, but I simply don't expect as much anymore.
Glad I have the memories of the good old days.

I'm staying a Cowboys fan, but my NFL interest is waning. As a 32 year old, I've never seen the Cowboys in an NFCC game since becoming a fan. Heck, I have to use YouTube to watch the Cowboys actually win. That said, I'm not going to ditch. However, I have to admit my NFL interest is waning.

Firstly, it helps that I enjoy other sports, particularly European/Premier League football/soccer and WC football/soccer, and I'm also a big hockey fan. Specifically, my Premier League team, the AFC Bournemouth Cherries have been spectacular. Here's a team that was collecting money in buckets in 2008 to stay alive, and now they are 6th in the Premier League after thumping Nottingham Forest 5-0. Oh, and Bournemouth's home ground has only got a maximum seating capacity of 11,307. Compare that to AT&T Stadium, and it really puts the Joneses to shame. Then there's my hockey team, the Vegas Golden Knights (who share an owner with Bournemouth, maybe he can buy the Cowboys?) who have only existed since 2017. They went to the Stanley Cup their first year and then won it a few years ago. So yes, having other sports helps me wane my interest in the NFL.

Secondly, the NFL feels like a recycled product at this point. I don't know how else to say it, but it just feels......dull at this point. I mean, I enjoy watching the sport. I'm still a diehard Cowboys fan. I still enjoy going to the pub every so often to watch some games like I plan to do tonight for one of the championship games. However, I can't say I enjoy the NFL as much as I used to. Between the officiating being crap and the Cowboys being useless, I can't say it's as intriguing as it used to be for me. Hopefully my joy watching the Cowboys will be rewarded some day and I'm not going to ditch. However, I much prefer world football and hockey. Also, I must say, I enjoyed the college season, and I do like to watch the Japanese X League when I can. But, all in all, especially with the NFL, it's getting a bit boring.
That’s how I feel. My love for the game has faded. Not just because I’m a cowboys fan but the game has changed tremendously. It’s sad.

It's not just the Cowboys. It's the way the NFL is trying to appeal to new fans while selling us established fans down the river. Between pushing Taylor Swift down our throats when her music sounds awful, the way the Chiefs benefit from ridiculous calls and no calls, and just the over manufacturing and manipulation of games. FIFA really needs to lead an investigation into the NFL after how FIFA got slammed for match fixing. The NFL does it much more obviously than FIFA did.

I'm similar in that way when it comes to soccer/football and hockey, as well as American football, I am a massive Golden Knights and Cherries fan, but I will watch any good matchup in the Premier League or NHL.
