The NFL is watered down. There are too many games (going on an 18-game season) on too many days of the week on too many channels in too many foreign countries. Too many teams make the playoffs and the overall play and talent has suffered. Just wait until the NFL adds a few more teams to the mix.

Well, and they're wanting to add another game. It's really watered down to a ridiculous extent.

The Cowboys have been my sports love for 50 years.
I would make my plans around game time.
The green bay loss and the silly all in comments followed up by a do nothing offseason finally broke me.
I watch the games if it's convenient.
Jerrys mismanagement of the team has finally killed my enthusiasm for the team.
It's sad that one man can take away something that used to be a source of such enjoyment.
That's understandable

however like you have been watching since the 80s maybe not as long as you but close to it and I'm a transplant from up north came here when I was 10 years old and I don't know I immediately was drawn to the Dallas Cowboys...

However, I'm going to watch every game, the changes I've made the last few years is thank God for streaming DVR stuff, that way I can let the game get a little ahead so I can skip commercials but then I started getting ahead so I can skip through penalties ,you know bad plays, check the scores, if I missed something good I can go back... so sometimes the game when it gets frustrating I'll switch to something else for 15-20 minutes then I'll come back start watching and then start my Fast forward and rewind stuff... so that way I'm not just locked into the game for three hours and get so frustrated I can't enjoy myself..

I rarely miss watching a game the only excuse is if I'm on a plane or if I'm somewhere they're not showing it on vacation or you know going from the airport on the bus and there's no Wi-Fi I'm still finding myself trying to find and check scores you know they show the live game updates on Bleacher Report and stuff so I'm trying to get on my apps I just can't stop watching but I have adjusted the way I watch games to try to keep them from being stressful...

I would counter argue that officiating has never been better. Our ability to overanalyze missed calls has been the problem.

In th 90’s, a ref could miss 6-7 egregious holding calls in a row on Bruce Smith and no one would be the wiser. But if that happens even just twice in today’s media age, you get pages and pages of people losing their minds. Officials are under more scrutiny now than ever, and they are minimizing missing the really ridiculous calls that used to happen. But it’ll never be perfect.

Officials aren’t the problem that’s hurting the NFL, twitter and YouTube and TikTok are
History revisionism right here. I still have a large collection of games from pre internet and it is nothing like you say. The officiating is much worse than it was in the 80s and 90s. It wasn't perfect, but it was much better than current day.

The top teams from the 90s would roll through this league like hot butter.

Two reasons:

1) The officials were more inclined to let them play
2) Multiple weekly practices in pads to perfect their play. Now they are limited to 1 practice in pads per week.

Back then, officials called games honestly.

Now, it's just too obvious that they are manipulating. Why? Well, I think it's too keep the games close and try for exciting endings. There used to be way too many blowouts, and that's when people tune out. So, they changed it to keep games close. Remember back in the day when a team got a 3 score lead, game was over?(Yes, there were a few exceptions). Now, no lead is safe. And they make it so.

Go rewatch the Sea/PITT super bowl, the ARI/PITT super bowl, and the NE/JAX champ game. Great examples of what they're doing.

That's why Saban left.
That prob had a lot to do with it.

But he left because the morning after the team got back from the playoff loss to Michigan, he had players in his office asking for more NIL

It’s sad what has become of college football

It's boring. KC in the AFC every year and then SF/Philly alternating dominant seasons in the NFC. Detroit's emergence has made it a little interesting but it could be short-lived with both of their coordinators gone.

It's more frustrating than usual for sure bc the team isn't doing anything to improve. We have Stephen already whining about the cap as if Philly didn't exist under the same cap rules. Jerry has lost hope and Stephen just doesn't want to be stressed about future cap space. It's a no win situation for fans. Glad i'm not vested in season tickets.

You’re just feeling that way because this year sucked. When you lose your starters after going 12-5 for 3 years in a row the season isn’t the same. Regardless how anyone feels about Dak, when you lose your starting QB the season is over in this league. The NFL is awesome. I’m a secondary Chiefs fan so that helps. But I watch as much of every game that I can. We can only hope and pray that El Cheapo opens up the checkbook in FA and we have a solid draft. I’m learning to quit having my sights on them picking who I want, as they generally do the opposite! (Schoonmaker is a perfect example). For two seasons no RB’s drafted!!!). Just wait and see. That’s my approach going into next season for sure

I'm staying a Cowboys fan, but my NFL interest is waning. As a 32 year old, I've never seen the Cowboys in an NFCC game since becoming a fan. Heck, I have to use YouTube to watch the Cowboys actually win. That said, I'm not going to ditch. However, I have to admit my NFL interest is waning.

Firstly, it helps that I enjoy other sports, particularly European/Premier League football/soccer and WC football/soccer, and I'm also a big hockey fan. Specifically, my Premier League team, the AFC Bournemouth Cherries have been spectacular. Here's a team that was collecting money in buckets in 2008 to stay alive, and now they are 6th in the Premier League after thumping Nottingham Forest 5-0. Oh, and Bournemouth's home ground has only got a maximum seating capacity of 11,307. Compare that to AT&T Stadium, and it really puts the Joneses to shame. Then there's my hockey team, the Vegas Golden Knights (who share an owner with Bournemouth, maybe he can buy the Cowboys?) who have only existed since 2017. They went to the Stanley Cup their first year and then won it a few years ago. So yes, having other sports helps me wane my interest in the NFL.

Secondly, the NFL feels like a recycled product at this point. I don't know how else to say it, but it just feels......dull at this point. I mean, I enjoy watching the sport. I'm still a diehard Cowboys fan. I still enjoy going to the pub every so often to watch some games like I plan to do tonight for one of the championship games. However, I can't say I enjoy the NFL as much as I used to. Between the officiating being crap and the Cowboys being useless, I can't say it's as intriguing as it used to be for me. Hopefully my joy watching the Cowboys will be rewarded some day and I'm not going to ditch. However, I much prefer world football and hockey. Also, I must say, I enjoyed the college season, and I do like to watch the Japanese X League when I can. But, all in all, especially with the NFL, it's getting a bit boring.
Trying to make a physical sport soft is ruining the game. Qbs and receivers have no fear or pressure of getting hit. Defense can't play aggressive or its 15 yards. Game is in a bad place and getting worse.

My NFL interest is waning due to a few things:

1) The flag fest. Just makes the game boring.
2) The players' mouths. Just shut up, please.
3) No Defense allowed.
4) Too many 400 yard passing games.
The greed of trying to grow the game by getting the casual fan is going to lose the base.

Everything feels the same. 25 teams are good at moving the ball between the 20s, and suck at everything else. Then there are 6 or 7 teams that can actually score. No personality anymore. Defenses are awful compared to 20 years ago, because they aren't allowed to hit people. The only thing that has improved has been the freaking kickers.

the way the Chiefs benefit from ridiculous calls and no calls, and just the over manufacturing and manipulation of games. FIFA really needs to lead an investigation into the NFL after how FIFA got slammed for match fixing. The NFL does it much more obviously than FIFA did.
I have said it many many times here and I'll say it again. . . The NFL is categorized as ENTERTAINMENT . . . FIFA is a SPORT. . . In FIFA match fixing is illegal . . . iN the NFL it is employed in order to "Entertain"

The influence of Vegas is the reason I have soured on the NFL. There is a really good matchup right now, and I am not watching it. The only out come will be what Vegas wants

Its patriots vs <who ever is dominating the NFC> all over again.

This league is boring, now even more with all marketing, podcasts, diva players, etc, etc.

I stop watching games since 2024 and I enjoy my Sundays in peace and doing other stuff which is good to create memories. I don’t want to be an old man that says he spend his Sundays watching ads for 2 hours and 2 hours of game for almost 30 years (I’m 33 years old) being mad at a TV.

Jerry doesn’t care, league is boring, I only watch highlights and post here (cause most of you guys here have interesting takes).
