When I first saw this shot I was also thinking how little side line room there is as well.
But here's what I think were missing. There will be a 5-7 yard player boundry on each sideline. If you look at this, it's obvious that the what were seeing is much wider than an actual football field.

Something else to consider is just how far away this shot is.
Look at the white trailer on the right side of the field stretching between the 25 and 35 yard lines. It gives you some scale and demonstrates how big this place is and that there's plenty of sideline room.

If it weren't for that huge video board, I sure would hate to have seats that high. That is like looking at ants from a three story building. I don't think your eyes will be down of the field much at all.

I'm still trying to figure out what the wind will be like with the open endzones? I know they are not open at field level, but I wonder if there will be any wind tunnel effect.. anyone have any idea of how the structure will handle wind?

no idea how the structure will handle wind But I know the ballpark gets very windy and it is just a few hundred feet away.

It would be something if the stadium was real windy after texas stadium only had wind in the upper levels really.

I dont see the wind being an issue, the enormous doors on either end can be opened or shut, and with the roof not retracted, wouldnt it be a closed stadium at that point?

Now if the opposing team was setting up for a go ahead field goal in the final seconds of a game...... wonder how fast the doors open on this bad boy.

I've been wondering that myself. The roof closes in what, 12 minutes?

If Jimmy Johnson used to have the tunnels opened and closed for a field goal, old Wade needs to use these doors to our home field advantage.

You wouldn't even need to open them all that far, just crack both open about the width of the goal posts to get a nice breeze blowing straight through the building. That's what, maybe two sections of the doors?

Time out, Dallas. Heh he....

Thanks for the pix!!! They are awesome! I am sooooooooooooo stoked! I will be there to see it open with George Strait! My bff is taking me, as a 1 year anniversary gift of my kidney transplant. I can not wait.... think I'm gonna wear my Darren Woodson jersey!

I've read the roof can close in approx. 9 mins now. I think it was originally 12 mins, but they adjusted some things so it could close faster.

Edit: http://cowboyszone.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2770174&highlight=roof#post2770174

Less than 9 mins.

David Buehler may have some issues with the height of that screen. That is all.

Actually, JJ wanted even a bigger one, but it wouldn't fit properly in the stadium. (I'm not kidding.)

They actually took the same perspective as if you were watching in your living room on a 50" screen, and took averages from the same proportionate distance, as if you were in the stands. And determined the optimum size from that.

I wonder if we are keeping the same field turf from Texas Stadium or if we are getting a brand new field. If it is the later, I hope Jerry goes with a little darker blue, similar to the 80's endzones, and then darkens the trim on the white uniforms again. Make everything match the star on the helmet.

It is brand new. They sold off pieces of the old turf.

Less than 9 mins.

They probably just added a few extra of these.

It was my understanding that the perspective will be over 60" from your home theatre, something like 65" or close to it. I cannot find the article that I read that from however.

What's a 60-65" HD TV cost these days?

Amazing to think that Texas Stadium and this video board cost the same to build, not adjusted for inflation of course.

If Extenze didn't do something pretty amazing, would we be able offer this? :lmao2:

Ah, for the marketing to a fundamental concern/emotion of the male gender...
