..are going to need to earn their keep this year.

If we aren't going after front-running FAs to fill our needs, then the 2nd tier is probably better in the longer run but the coaches will need to make these 2nd and 3rd tier FA fill the roles we need filled.

I also think what Dallas will do is wait and see about the next wave of cuts from teams. There will be several surprises coming as FA's get signed and guys get cut to fit them in.

Dallas is going to want to wait and see what value pops up then.

:crossed:

Also, there has been a lot of talk about trades this year, now and leading up to the Draft.

I'm wondering if Dallas hasn't got their eye on some players destined to be released or on the trading block shortly.

That also will take some cap to accomplish.

I'm not freaking over Columbo leaving.

:cry3:

If Dallas really thought he was indispensible, they would have gotten him done like they did Guerode.

The fact they didn't means they have a Plan B.

We'll see.

We HAVE to sign Columbo. This is Flo's last season (unless we extend him). If we don't sign Columbo and end up with some POS at RT then we'll be headin' into FA next year needing a RT and a LT. MAYBE McQ can be the replacement but I'm not ready to put my faith in a 7th round pick from a small school to be a starting LT in the NFL. Either way, even if we go with McQ in 2008 then we'd need an established veteran RT anyway.

JJ, give Columbo his money.

I agree. Next year we are going to have to look long and hard at Wideouts as well. So we'd be looking at Oline and wideouts, not to mention anyone else we may need.

I'm not saying JJ should turn into the midget up in DC, but for Christ sakes, how many Second teir free agents can we go through before JJ realizes that yes, we can spend half as much money, but we end up with Crap. Marcellus Wiley, Fabini, etc etc.

This team has some great players all across the board, what they are missing however is a dominating line on both sides of the ball. What good is it to have Barry Sanders if your line sucks? What good is Ray Lewis if your D line sucks?

Give me a top notch Oline and an average rb anyday over Ladanian and a poor line. Same thing on Defense.

ITS ALL ABOUT CONTROLLING THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL. Its not about how many TO's you have on your team, or how many TNews. Those players are only as good as your lines are.

Jerry....get us a damn Oline, and get us some guys who can pressure the qb.
