What is it about the internet that makes people want to incessantly blog every single thought they have, seemingly turning this forum into one giant blogosphere?

I mean these weekly threads are getting sad. This forum used to be spontaneous, inspired conversation.

Now it is filled with people who dont have entertaining enough things to say to run a successful blog, so they flood a forum leeching off its users.
