Irving decided to leave 3 of the stanchions standing so that they might be able to sell them! Wow - what governments will do to make money!

Yes - I did tear up, when it started falling in. I got to see games in the Cotton Bowl and Texas Stadium, so I treasure those moments.

I am now retired and so will never be able to afford tickets to Cowboy stadium, so this was painful for me.

Saying that - the new stadium looks amazing on TV!

The people I feel most sorry for are the family members who scattered their loved one's ashes at Texas Stadium,cause that's what daddy woulda wanted......You know there are some who would...only to now be able to visit daddy or uncle Fred at the new Victoria's Secret store in the mall to be built there,if they're that lucky and they don't use the land for a waste treatment facility.

Great memories of going to games there.

91 vs Atlanta to end the season when Emmitt beat Barry Sanders to win his first rushing title, and people stayed AFTER the game to see what Sanders was doing in OT. It was the first time I'd ever been to Texas Stadium, it was amazing.

92 vs Philly...the weekend where local Kroger's yanked Philly Cream Cheese from the shelves...we didnt just beat them that day, we kicked their tails good.

93 vs SF...Aikman to Irvin for something like 12 or 13 catches. Another butt kicking.

Definitely the 3 favorite games I attended there.

Wow, thanks for depressing me. I actually had strict plans for my wife to do the same to me if I went before her, at any cost. Never thought of it that way.

Anyone who claims he's a Cowboy fan and claims he didn't get somewhat sentimental or emotional seeing Texas Stadium going down is either not a Cowboy fan or is just plain ole lying.

Agree 100%. She was a treasure to every true Cowboy fan.

So many memories. The 93 NFC champ. game against the Niners (Kosar to Harper - 42 yard TD to seal the game) - I literally couldn't hear the guy next to me, It was the loudest I had ever heard Texas Stadium.

Yeah, the spanking of Philly in the 92 playoffs was a sweet memory for me, given that my first visit to Texas Stadium was 1991 when they sacked Aikman 11 times.

I know what you mean, I went to a few games at the Cotton Bowl but it cost about ten times more to go to games at Texas Stadium. Raising my family came first and I could not justify paying the extra money for just my own entertainment so I never went to any games there and so it never really meant much to me.

I can understand how those who attended games there would have a lot of reverence for the place and feel sad. Once I attended a game between the Dallas Texans and the NY Titans at PC Cobb stadium and I felt a little sad when it was torn down to build the Infomart.

I won't be going to any games at the new stadium but I know there will be lots of people building memories there. That's good because people who attend games make it possible for those of us who don't to be able to watch them on TV. Thanks one and all.

there is always the American Airlines Center in downtown Dallas. Please make sure Cuban, Dirk, and Terry are inside.......just kidding, cause we all know if Dirk were inside, Hasselhoff would do his Baywatch run to save his life partner in the nick of time.

I never went to Reunion Arena, but I remember seeing the Spurs vs Mavs on TV quite a bit, as well as WCCW back when the von Erichs were all still alive.

I live in Tennessee and I only got to see one game at Texas Stadium... October 9, 1983 vs Tampa Bay. We won 27-24 in OT. I went with my best friend and his family.

It was extra special because I got to see my all-time favorite Cowboy Roger Staubach go into the Ring of Honor at halftime. I remember him riding around the stadium in a convertible waving at the crowd. I was 15 years old. I regret I never got to go back and take my kids.:cry3:

Flew over it a bunch of times going into DFW, but never made the pilgrimage. Of course, having seen it on TV so many times over the years, it almost feels like I did. Farewell, friend.

I went to 4 games at Texas Stadium, unfortunately none with all 3 triplets.

They lost to the Giants on Sunday Night, Anthony Wright was our QB.

They beat Jacksonville, I believe Hutch was the QB for that game.

They lost to Atlanta, Quincy was the QB

They beat the Giants. I believe it was an overtime game and we won 16-13.



The only thing I hated about Texas Stadium was trying to coordinate seating based on the sun. Early games and late games were different as to where the sun was. Also, if you were in the shade it was so much cooler and easier to see than it the hot, sunny sections. I forget what game it was, but we started out in the shade, and then about halfway through the game, the sun just started beating down on us. Damn was it hot and bright. But other than this, I loved going to the games.

I am looking forward to going to some in the new stadium as well.....

I never went to Texas Stadium for a game. The closest I got to the stadium was when I drove by it on my way out of Arlington on my way to DFW to catch my flight after seeing the Cowboys beat the Commanders on November 22nd of last year.

It was run-down and the grass was overgrown, but it was still cool to see.

I also went to four games and when we lost all four I quit going, because I must be jinxing the team.
We almost beat the Rams in 89 but they came back in the last 5 min. or so to score a touchdown.

I remember when Philly came to town and had us backed up to our own goal line ,I was in the end zone seats and saw Hager their linebacker jump offside and knock Aikman on his duff, when the the refs finally got everyone apart I looked to see if Hager was laid out and he was on the sidelines behind Your friend and mine,Buddy Ryan.
I have had no respect for them since.
