Boy this is difficult.

One would probably the the goal line stop by Norton in the '92 super bowl.

Another would probably be the Harper slant on that muddy field in San Francisco in the 1992 NFC Championship game.

One could possibly be the play in the early 90's where Larry Allen runs down the Saints LB after he intercepted Aikman.

The Murray TD run towards the end of the game in Seattle last year would certainly be up there because of how good the Seattle run defense was and how beaten up and weary that whole unit was by the end of the game.

Maybe the play against the Rams where Gurode snaps the ball over Tony's head and it goes back about 30 yards where Romo picks it up and runs it all the way back to pick up the first down.

There are so many that it is just impossible to do, but there are five that are memorable for me.

1 the playbefore the Hail Mary, Preston Pearson on the sidelines
2 the Hail Mary
3 the pass in the corner of endzone to win the game in the 1979 Commander victory

4 Newhouse half back pass SB XII

5 the sack by Too tall that had thiesman going to the wrong sideline in a daze

There's so many to list that's the 70s era team.

1. Tony Dorsett's 99 yard touchdown against the Vikings.

2. The Hail Mary.

3. Troy Aikman's 76 yard touchdown pass to Rocket Ismail to beat the Commanders in 1999. Cowboys overcame a 21 point fourth quarter deficit in the game.

4. Butch Johnson's diving 46 yard touchdown catch from Roger Staubach in Super Bowl XII.

5. Emmitt Smith's touchdown run around right tackle against the Falcons on Monday Night Football in 1992. He ran into a wall of Falcons, and slipped out the back, and just beat Deion Sanders to the pylon to score a fantastic touchdown.

Honorable Mention #1 - Jim Jeffcoat's long interception return of a pass batted by Too Tall Jones as the Cowboys beat the Giants in 1985.

Honorable Mention #2 - Roger Staubach's winning touchdown pass to Tony Hill in Staubach's final regular season game.

Honorable Mention #3 - Alvin Harper's catch and run of a slant from Troy Aikman that helped set up the clinching score in the 1992 NFL Championship in San Francisco.

Some of the first ones I thought of were already mentioned...

1. Emmitt's record-breaking run against Seattle.
2. Dorsett's 99 yard TD run.
3. Harper's slant TD against San Francisco.
4. Emmitt's TD run against Atlanta.
5. Roy Williams destroying Amani Toomer after Toomer talked trash.

Honorable Mentions: Romo's crazy ridiculous bad snap recovery and run against the St. Louis Rams. Marion Barber's epic 2 yard run against the Patriots where he breaks 10 tackles.

Play before the Hail Mary was an incomplete pass on a dump off to Preston Pearson. If that didn't happen, the clock would have run out on the Cowboys.

The pass completed on 4th and 16 was to Drew Pearson on the sidelines. Pearson made an amazing catch and dragged his toes to stay inbounds. A security guard was so mad that he kicked Pearson while he was on the ground. Those two catches were Pearson's only catches in the game.

This is one of those things about being a fan of this team... so tough to narrow the list, but here goes:

1. Roger to Ron Sellers @SF
2. Roger to Tony Hill v Wash, to win the East in '79
3. Aikman to Harper, on the slant @ SF
4. Lilly chasing down Bob Griese
5. Tony D going for 99.9999 @ Min

Yeah, leaving out the Hail Mary seems so wrong, and I feel terrible about it.

Thanks for the memories, not sure why I remember it wrong. I remember the pic in sports illustrated

Harper didn't score. Not trying to be a jerk.... the clinching TD Harper set up was scored by Kelvin Martin. Harper's slant is my #1 Cowboys moment.

Excellent choices - the Lilly sack of Griese is a great one.

Thanks. There are just so many with this franchise that some great plays are going to go unnoticed. The thing about the TD 99-yarder that will always stick with me, though, is Don Meredith's response once Tony makes that cut to the right, headed towards the sideline. First it's Gifford with the "Look out!" followed by Dandy's "Aww no... ninety nine yards... and a half."

Despite losing that game, which I believe was the regular season finale, that play, that call still gives me chills. Good times.

Yeah, that game was played a short time after the Metrodome roof collapsed for the first time. It was amazing all the way around - only 10 guys on the field, Pearson doing a so so job of downfield blocking, and Dorsett keeping his balance along the sidelines despite Willie Teal trying to shove him out of bounds. Tony Dorsett is my all-time favorite Cowboy, so of course that play is my all time favorite as well.

This would not crack my Top 5, but the Aikman to Ismael bomb in overtime on Opening Day 1999 in Washington will always be SWEET (and worth mentioning).

and Darrell Green and Champ Bailey still have not caught him yet.
