Big differnece between Bp in Keyshawn and BP and TO.

Bp and Keyshawn built their relationship when Keyshawn was a kid basically.

TO is way past that point and not nearly in the same place as a 21 year old kid out of college. TO is very stubborn and this will not be easy esp. with things like missing practice time getting in the way.

Which is exactly why I spoke of Johnson's formative years. That one of the main reasons why I tend to laugh when I see people attempting to create a wide distinction between Owens and Johnson. To me, they are more alike than different.

Probably so, but T.O. may be beyond the point of BP making a difference!

I understand that, I just saw a bit of the first Carolina preseason game and saw Delhomme hit Keyshawn for a couple of first down passes and it got me to thinking about how I thought Keyshawn was going to be a nice addition for them and a bit of a security blanket for Delhomme. Steve Smith gets constantly doubled and taken out forcing Delhomme into bad decisions, which I think will be lessoned to a great deal by Keyshawn.

You can cover Keyshawn man to man, or you could double him, but with his size and his hands he is going to catch his fair share of accurately thrown balls, extending drives and making them a more consistent team through blocking and his hardworking attitude.

He needs to be a second WR. Period. He does not get enough separation to be a number one.

And this is no knock on Terry Glenn, but he isn't what I consider a go-to type of player anymore. That's why we got Owens to begin with. Expecting Glenn to be a number one again with Johnson opposite him is not the same as what Carolina is going to do with both he and Smith. Yes, Smith is a better receiver, faster, stronger and more dominant.

If we kept Keyshawn Johnson and paid him as Carolina is doing, we would have done nothing to help our offense. We needed firepower. That wasn't going to come by drafting Santonio Holmes or Chad Jackson either.
