He's always so confident that he's hit the mark. like he has all the inside info. Then when he misses he comes right back arrogant.
Makes no sense.
Really, that's my only complaint about Broaddus. When he is simply giving his opinion, like he did on Marinelli going to tampa, he states it like it is a fact. Like, "Marinelli is a loyal guy. He's going to want to be in Tampa with Lovie. Too bad because he's a great D Coordinator. He was just getting things going in Dallas. They will probably promote Eberflus who I think will be pretty good."
Like it is a foregone conclusion or something. That is bad enough if it is just Joe Blow out here on the message boards... but when you write for Dallas Cowboys.com and state opinion like it is fact, then there are going to be gobs of people who start spouting off what was initially just a gut feeling as if it came from Stephen Jones himself. He can tell people at the beginning of his tirade that it is his "gut feeling" all he wants, but many will hear it as real inside info and believe it to be the truth.
*shrug* I don't know man, but when I was growing up my Father told me to be very clear if I wasn't sure about something because if you state it like you know for 100% fact, people will believe you. Then when you're proven wrong, it will hurt your credibility. Even if you are almost sure, be careful to tell people that you don't know for sure. If you don't then when you're telling something that you know is a sure enough fact, people will still doubt you.
So, I guess this probably rubs me the wrong way more than most... but it is a for sure pet peeve of mine.
It would be more tolerable if he would just say, I don't know for sure but I really do think Marinelli goes to be with Lovie in Tampa. Maybe I'm wrong but that's what I think right now. I haven't heard anything but if I had to guess, I'd say he moves.
