I noticed that the Jets defense really perked up last week in their first game with Law. :laugh2:

Just thought I'd add my three nickels... Let's not forget we got some in-house extensions coming up. Roy Williams anyone? He may be signed for eternity, but you can't tell me he hasn't met the necessary incentives to shorten his contract. So take a peak at Donovan Darius' numbers to see what RW future cap hit could be.

Let's say Witten has another big-time year. Maybe not the same numbers as last year, but the value is still there. Take a peak at Todd Heap's numbers to see what the future cap hit could be.

Even Gurode might be worthy of a 2-year extension. Money on the cap.

It's about managing your cap budget. You gotta look at the cap as your own personal budget. Just because you got $500 in the bank doesn't mean you have to spend that $500 all in one day, even tho it may be on need items.

no no no. let's blow it all on Law. i want law. law law law law law law law law

I think the money can be saved for next year from some incentives clause.

Roy and Witten- witten especially- sign him up for at least 5 more years. Then next year look at getting other guys. Really no one that is due that is worth extending much right now outside of Roy and Witten. THough JJ is a thought. Depends on how this year works out. If about game 8 he is looking like he did last year, then maybe we make a move to tie him up for a total of about 6 years more.
