Intentional Grounding?

While I was watching yesterday in the 4th quarter we got pressure on Peyton and it looked like he threw the ball away. Maybe I am misunderstanding the rule but if you are not outside the tackles and you throw the ball away and there is no one in the vacinity it should be loss of down correct? Why is it we never get those calls? Or the blatant pushing Witten out of the endzone? And please stop all the Tony bashing that guy played a hell of a game! You put up 48 as an offense and lose thats on the DEFENSE no if ands but about it. Bad timing for an Int but I think the 5 td's and 500 yards was more than enough.

You are right - that should have been called.

Grounding should have been called. As should have numerous picks by Denver's receivers, holdings, Romo speared late after a scramble and a few PIs.

But the God Peyton must not be disturbed...

I have no idea how they could miss the PI on Witten. Right in front of the guy.

And I agree on the grounding. Peyton threw that away.

I remember the play, and I thought it was intentional grounding. There was a receiver "sort of" in the area, but the pass looked to be a good 7-10 yards short of him and it had no chance of being completed.

The "no call" when the DB pushed Witten out of bounds was ridiculous. The ref was standing right there and didn't call it. We scored a TD on that drive anyhow, but how that is not called I have no freaking idea.

Yeah it's crazy. I dont understand why we dont get those calls. Anyway im happy with the teams play. Now I want them to maintain that offense game plan from here on out. I dont want it to come Sunday night and we have 3 and out after 3 and out! I live in Virginia and dont know if I can stand these Commanders fans after a loss. Especially the women that I know dont even watch the game but feel like it's there place to come over and talk trash!

Agreed. Make RG3 attempt to beat you from the pocket. If they run that gimmick read option crap, hit him every time until they quit running it.

If Romo plays like he did yesterday, that anemic deadskin offense will have no chance.

I agree and their secondary is not the greatest. I t was nice seeing us take the top off the offense and actually throw down field. I have forgotten about yesterday almost :). We cant lose to these Skins!! Not at home.

If we play like we did yesterday, we will beat most teams in the NFL
make no mistake, some of our defensive issues were directly because of Peyton

I like the horse collar on Tony in the 4th. My favorite is how week after week you can mug Ware and it never gets called.

I know like early in the game his helmet is almost ripped off. I guess that was because he lost weight in his head throughout the game which made his helmet loose!!! I hate to blame Refs but man it seems like we never get the benefit of the doubt!!!

Was Romo out of the pocket when they hit Witten in the end zone? That is the only way it is not a penalty.

They had to keep the Broncos close. They were down 14-0 at that time and completed a big play. So they had to call the penalty on the Cowboys and not the Broncos because it would have been offsetting penalties and the play is wiped out. I hate complaining to but that offensive line holds like crazy, their receivers hold like crazy as well.

The entire broncos team got away with penalties all day because it's Peytons' team. They all get the same benefit of the doubt. In spite of all that, we still almost won.

Hmmm I don't know the rule but I thought that if a scrambling qb is out of pocket, there is no defensive holding or illegal contact downfield.

However, the push happened while the ball was in the air. In this case, PI should be called.

Regarding the intentional grounding, the refs can argue that there was so much pressure that Peyton underthrew his receiver or that the receiver ran the wrong option route

From what I remember seeing, the receiver was where the ball landed right before Peyton let it go. Still should of stopped them on 3rd down.

Same here. That is what "Payton Manning" status get's you.
