Pat Kirwan said today that he was hearing word that Petty could slip into the 1st. I would be shocked, but he could be another Ponder from a couple o years back.

The media is selling a bag of goods they can't cash......they need ratings so they are inventing drama...Petty has never played in a Pro Style offense... and Baylors offense does not project to the NFL....look at the trouble RG3 is having adapting to the NFL.... Petty will be at best a 3rd round pick......look for Huntley to come off the board before Petty.....Sometimes I think these NFL analysis are getting paid to pump up a player.....

Not high on Petty in any round. Not even fond of Winston or Mariota. It's just a bad class. The one QB i'd consider drafting is Chris Bonner in the 6th or 7th. Small school prospect but really intriguing.

According to what I read I read on twitter the Cowoys 1) Sent two scouts and Wade Wilson to watch his pro day. 2) They were the only team to send a videographer. 3) They are one of five teams to set up a prvate work out. 4) He will visit VR

If they love Petty as their guy like they did Travis Frederick who was taken way too early - by all means use your #1 on Petty.

That's what I believe anyway .

And every year for the last 10 years they would have been correct.

Is that so? I remember people saying this class was better then last years. I think if there is a decent prospect you like you take him. I happen to be a Petty fan and like his skill set and a 4th spent would be a good investment

I think Travis Frederick's play has proven he was not taken too early.

I would not take him before the 5th,the chances of him being a NFL QB is slim.

Nobody here knows how a QB will project in the Pro's.. We all have our biased opinions and YouTube Highlights.. So we think someone will be good or bad.. I like to leave it up to the people who get paid to evaluate players to decide who's worthy or not.. I'm a Controls Engineer I'm sure a Pro Scout could have a opinion on how I design a piece of equipment, but ultimately it will be my neck on the line...

I think some team will value Petty higher than Dallas and that will be that.

If it comes down to that, i'd rather see what they have in terms of talent.

Exactly!

The learning curve for NFL QB's isn't what it used to be if put in the right situation.

That same thought process makes me not want to draft a QB as well but I don't see the need in a veteran behind Romo.

This is not the year to draft a QB in rounds 1-3. We need a RB and defensive help at every position that can play right away. Look for a QB next year when we should have a few comp picks. Heck, draft two next year for all I care. This year, we have too many other needs and I'd rather keep Vaughn than some 6th round rookie.
