Interesting comment from Ware

Ware was in coverage alot Sunday if you watch the video. They still played the 3-4 more than what I would've liked.

He's right about having a huge NT to play that position, but when I mentioned last year that Ferguson was too light, people ripped me a part, so I've shut my face about it. If the boys want to run a 3-4, they'd better get another Ware, and a huge NT, and a DC who knows how to run it, and a coach who will let the Coordinator do what he needs to do.

I am not the know all end all by any means, nor do I claim to be.

Ware is susceptible in coverage at times. Not that he sucks, just that he isnt always clutch.

I was right there with you talking about the need for a big, solid NT. The Cowboys just never brought in a guy to fill that void so they must have accepted what they had.

Had Parcells started the process 4 years ago instead of 2 years ago, we'd be in perfect condition.

You're right, he'll never be as good as those Commander linebackers such as....uh...um....Lavar Arrington? *sigh*

Formerly he did, that was how far back I had to dig to find a respectable..er..I mean hyped Commander linebacker.

So you thought the guy that essentially ended Aikman's career respectable ?

I would have rather you said Marcus Washington or even Antonio Pierce (current Giant).

Based on what I would like to know ? Please and Thanks.

Forgive me I should have used the adjectives hyped, overpaid, inept, Daniel Snyder.

I was about to say the same thing (i.e., I would rather have Washington over Lavar).

I never implied i wanted any of them, this was a fiction created by the skin fan above.

Adjectives placed where exactly ?

I will give you the chance to re-post and adjust your previous post. So then maybe; since I am just a Commanders fan... maybe, I will get a clearer understanding of your skewed perception.

OT, I know. But I read that last night and wonder how much of it is posturing vs. reality.

I have met Key a couple of times and he isnt one to mince words.

Problem isnt Henning so much as Jake and that piss poor offensive line.

At least I was right about how bad/overrated the Panthers would be this season.

I bet you weren't right about you're prediction for the skins. They're the overrated ones.

Oh wow, you are a genius.

I said I was right about the Panthers clearly.

I will admit also clearly that I certainly didnt think the Commanders would fare as poorly as they did. And you can look it up if you want.

In all fairness the Cowboys dont have the personnel to execute a dominant 3-4.

They need a dominant NT ( Wilfork for example) , DE's who get pressure on the edges (but have enough size to control the line still) , LBs who are small enough to cover and strong/fast enough to support run. And basically leave Roy to do what he does best most of the time. A solid coverage FS, and Cowboys are okay as far as CBs go the problems with the secondary start up front.

But hey... thats just my opinion, and remember I am a Commanders fan.

Most of what you wrote is correct, but the part about LB's isn't. 3-4 LB's need to be big because they are often taking on linemen, particularly the middle LB's.

In our watered down version of the 3-4, that is probably true.

Right now, it is just him. Before it was either he or Ellis most of the time.

Carp is still finding his way. He had a good game vs. the Lions.

We need this guy to step it up, fast.

I transcribed this from the Ticket's postgame audio...

You can listen to the audio yourself if you go to the Media Zone and download the MP3 file of the postgame that I put up. Where he talks about the 3-4 vs. 4-3 is at about 48:33.

<Brad Sham>....I'm guessing you like that four man front?

<Ware> Oh, yeah. I like the four man front. You're able to get more pressure on passing situations. You don't have to worry about - in the 3-4 - only one guy rushing or trying to figure out what kind of blitz you want to give the offense. I mean we like it alot. We got alot of great pass rushers. I think that it's gonna carry over to next week - some type of scheme that we have. But, um, the players feel good about it.

(I wonder if the coaches feel good about it?)

Ware said something to the the extent that in the 3-4 you only have ONE player trying to rush the QB. ng2:

honestly in our version it looks liek nobody is rushing the passer

the downside is Zimmer can probably invent a scheme where we drop 11 guys to cover their 5, and still they'd find the wide open areas of the creampuff zones
