Dak Prescott leads all quarterbacks in turnover-worthy play rate (min. 100 attempts)

Per PFF, Prescott has committed a turnover-worthy play on 4.9 percent of his dropbacks. His career rate is three percent. Using an attempts threshold of 50 dropbacks Prescott to fourth in the rankings and somehow makes things look worse for him. The only players with more dangerous plays in that sample are Spencer Rattler, Will Levis, and Tyler Huntley.

Yeesh. He has regressed back to 2022 form.

He also is unwilling or unable to effectively run the ball. That weapon at least helped keep the D honest and helped us move the chains and convert key red zone opportunities.

Now he looks like a damn statue back there.

Zero run game, weak pass protection, only 1 real weapon on O.

Every single QB needs a decent supporting cast around him.

Even the great Mahomes has 6 TD, 8 INT this season.

"But Mahomes is 6-0!", says the same people who always remind us that "wins aren't a QB stat."

Looks like rookie TE Brock Bowers may be as good as advertised.

Also, this surprised me a bit
"Trevor Lawrence has 91 more passing yards on deep throws than any other quarterback"

At the end of the day watch the games. You can tell Dak is struggling. You can tell why he’s struggling. Why he’s struggling depends on your agenda. If you are upset at his salary you will have an agenda against that. If you’re a fan of him you will see how bad scheme is. Regardless of your agenda the Cowboys aren’t good and it’s but just because of bowl or he’s playing.

Or if you have an agenda you will blame everyone and everything other than Dak for Dak's struggles.

Right. It all goes hand in hand. I think the one criticism that is deserved is him not running the ball more. It takes away one of the weapons in the arsenal. I can see why the coaches and Dak might not want him to run the ball more, but a few strategic runs help keep defenses on their toes and makes the offense more effective.

Brock has been good since day one. I expected it because of college but you just never know Pitts has been good but not nearly what they hyped and Mayer was a waisted pick. Kincaid looks good. Just a few hyped tight ends I’ve seen. Washington has not been what I expected but maybe Russell can get something out of him.

That would only be true if these stats were only calculated for Dak. They are calculated for every QB. It's just another stat, and in now way is it an attack on Dak to point it out, nor is it a conspiracy against Dak.
I wasn’t insinuating it was a stat or there was a conspiracy. It’s like people bringing up Dak has the most tight window throws in the league. You can literally come up with any stat you want to defend your stat. I don’t need a stat to tell me what’s wrong with Dak or the Cowboys it’s clear as day.

A new nerd stat lol.
But is pertinent
Especially against the schedule heavy with plsyoff caliber teams

Turnovers separate the pretenders
Can go a step further and what is the ratio vrs teams with a winning record

There's a lot that this nerd stat doesn't take into account. It's a not a stat of turnovers. But yes turnovers are bad, obviously.

Lol. Anything to avoid holding the 60 million dollar man accountable. IRRATIONAL DAK FAN STATUS NOTED!!! Lol

Dak had the things you listed above last year. A 1000 yard rusher in Tony Pollard. Single season franchise record setting WR. A defense that was at the top of the league in QB pressures and turnovers.

What did Dak do with it? The same thing he has done 5 out of the 7 times he has reached the postseason: he has played poorly.

And no— that doesn’t absolve everyone else that also played poorly in those games. But there is a reason QBs get paid disproportionately to every other position in football: they directly affect the outcome of games more.

So if Dak gets the bag, he deserves the accountability that comes with it. And bottom line: he has not played well enough in big moments for this team. And sometimes he has flat out played poorly at the worst times.

If you don’t want to deal with that— then go ahead and put your head in the sand. There are 9 years of data points to back up what I am saying.

And for the record— I hope he bucks the trend and leads this team to. SB. I hope he plays lights out and dominates starting this Sunday. I just can’t bring myself to put lipstick on the pig and try to explain away his inability to be a difference maker (thus far) in the playoffs for this franchise— despite his being paid to do so.
