Interesting fact about Mingo

Jonathan Mingo is the Mazi Smith of wide receivers.
Another Cowboys special on their infatuation with the SPARQ NFL Combine underwear Olympics.

And then come gameday the player is no where to be found.
Pathetic.

If this is McClay influenced he loses even more cred with this move imo.
Or again, it may be Jerry being Jerry like the Lance thing last year.

Either way...Cowboys!
LOL

In fairness to Mingo, that volume was being served up to him by an awful QB in a broken offense.

He is still young enough and talented enough (fast enough, LOL) to be worth another look, but you have to discount his trade price for what he has shown on the field. And that isn't much.
So coming to a team with an awful QB and a broken Offense is going to improve him?

To me this is what is very disturbing. Did Jerry make this decision himself without any input from others? Was Will McClay consulted? Were any of the scouts? There is no way that I can accept that a scout analyzed who's available for a 4th and comes up with Mingo. Was Chris Olave from the Saints not available for a 4th? Did they reach out to Seattle to see what they would have taken for Metcalf? The clown show in Dallas has now taken on a whole new dimension of idiocy.
Olave may have career threatening concussion concerns. He's also going to be in line for a payday if he does decide to throw caution to the wind and keep playing. Metcalf has a $31M cap hit for next season for the Seahawks. He's a free agent after 2025 and likely wants a whopper last(?) deal.

You think you're getting Olave for a 4th? You would be interested in taking on DK Metcalf for a $31M cap hit next year?

This year is a write-off. It's in the best interest of the Cowboys to just lose as many games as possible and just bring on the firings and cuts this offseason.

That's one other reason I hate the Mingo trade. He's not going to do anything in 2024 playing with backup QBs he's never practiced with in an offense he doesn't know. It's not like DeAndre Hopkins, where he's a 12 year vet who probably knows more ball than his position coaches, and he can just run out and play. This is a raw player who was struggling with the offense anyway.

Don't care honestly. His supposed athleticism isn't matching on-field production so i do not care if he test as the fastest most athletic person ever to touch a field. Whatever the case is his production is way too low on the field where it actually matters. Maybe he's not smart enough to understand concepts, or he can't run routes, or he can't catch. Fact is carolina is giving up on him quick and decided they are better off with a 4th round pick than try to develop him any further and their receiving corps sucks.
Well this sounds mighty familiar.

He’ll probably be a good player for us. I didn’t think Tolbert sucked tho

Among 72 WRs with at least 50 receptions since the start of last season, Jonathan Mingo ranks:

- 72nd in receiving yards (539)
- 71st in yards per route run (0.75)
- 72nd in catch rate (49.5%)

So, that's worth a 4th round pick, huh?

Oh I’m sure Jerry knew all about those analytics before the deal and of how they are going to fix them within “their” scheme (then change it up next year anyway when Mike is blamed for this mess).

Our GM doesn’t do any actual GM work and we wonder why this never adds up.

Carolina probably couldn’t believe they were offered a fourth.

You think being here is any different?

Keep in mind teams know our pick is going to be at the beginning of the round and we got a 7th in return.

So more like a late 3rd round value.

That wily Yoda!
He is getting a rep for robbing other teams blind!
Super Bowl here we come!!!!

WM had a high grade on him and you folks keep doubting Jerry’s all in. Jerry doesn’t need 4th round picks to improve the team remember it’s 24/7/365 in player acquisition, sad oh so sad
