I was listening to Spags and Broaddus a few minutes ago. Broaddus said he "had a feeling" the Cowboys would have no problem letting D. Irving go if another team offered a second round pick. I don't always agree with him but have to acknowledge he has obvious connections in the building. I was surprised by this as I have only heard the Cowboys were counting on him to be a big part of this defense moving forward. I personally want to keep him as I don't want to see the Nick Hadens of this world on this roster anymore. Stephen Jones said recently the D line was a high priority going into the draft. I wonder if there is some negative behind the scenes stuff regarding Irving we don't know?

IF this is true, I wonder if it has to do anything with Collins. He obviously performs much better at the 3T.

Interesting. I think Irving has maturity issues that may be a negative. He seems to be a bit of a flake.

But he is very talented. And has shown to be a difference maker at times. I would keep him and hope the other stuff eventually goes away.

If you are getting a second rounder for him, it better be a high one. As in top 40.

If he gets busted for PED's again he'll miss ten games

You can't play both him and Collins inside because neither are run stuffers. Makes sense if they have no inclination to play Irving outside.

Careful, you might give yourself a concussion. Maybe that why Dallas would let him walk. Miss 3 or 4 games for a concussion is disturbing

And Collins had almost as much pressure and game changing plays that Irving had while he was out. Garrett can't control a player he jettisons them, no clue how to motivate and get best out of players who are not RKGs.

David Irving is all over social media and has mentioned he wants to be an actor someday. Merlin Olson also went into acting after finishing up a HOF career with the rams and I think a guy named Jim Brown was pretty good too. I have no problem with this as long as he is not disruptive in the locker room which I have never heard him mentioned that way. He is definitely a different kind of cat but the NFL has had tons of those that were great players. This guy is young, quick, and athletic, we need to keep this guy. We have had a bad D line for way too long and we are finally seeing hope for the future.

I get the feeling there are a number of issues with this guy that never gets made public. He's talented as they come but I bet he is a huge pain in the butt and someone who I think they will be hesitant to give a long term deal to. I think they'll try to go year to year until either his nonsense catches up with him or he moves past his immaturity and really blossoms as a man and not the childish 'look at me and my dyed hair, fox coat, and nipple rings and nude pictures' grow the f up already.
If they want to get a team to give up a premium pick for him then it makes sense why they would keep his dirt under wraps. I think you're right.

For the first time we cultivate a decent pass rush and now we want to let it go for a Jerry Jones gamble pick? Watch us let Irving go and draft a guy in the 2nd with an injury history and then franchise Lawrence and he walks the next year.

Yeah I get the feeling he's not too high on their radar/priorities. They will choose Crawford/Collins over him at the 1Tech. Lawrence will get paid at LDE, which is another position that Irving has played well at. Taco also gets snaps there and as a 1st rounder, he has security. I don't see much room for Irving, which is unfortunate because I do like what he brings. If only Lawrence had his breakout season at RDE, it would have been perfect.

I agree with you competely. Does no good to air dirty laundry in public.

Would Jimmy cut him? Think Leon Lett and his importance to their championship defenses.

Personally, as long as he plays and not suspended or miss significant amounts of time due to unseen factors, injuries etc. then I'm good with Irving. We need all talent on deck right now, we don't need to move good players because we can't get along with them. If that were the case, Charles Haley would never have been with the Cowboys, and we would never have won 3 Titles in the 90s. All men on deck.
