there are 32 teams all anyone talks about is the cowboys, why these guys cant just shut up I will never understand.

They stay in the spotlight.

That is why Dallas Cowboys are about 15% of the NFL fan base.

Do you think Jerry would have pumped the Cowboys value to 4 billion by staying quiet?

That's shots-fired in Stephen-speak.

If nothing else, the start of this season is going to be interesting. If you noticed in Dak's locker-room presser, he said "this happened a lot quicker than anybody expected." He went on to say all the right things, but his mindset is obviously that this is his chance to take over for good. Stephen just officially opened that door if Dak goes on to play great. It's a good problem to have, but, man, do I feel bad for Tony. It's a tough position for a fan rooting for the new guy to be so good it puts a favorite player out to pasture prematurely.

It really is difficult and unfortunate

But it is what it is...team comes first

“I can’t imagine a scenario where Tony’s not our quarterback when he’s ready,” Jones said via the MMQB. “But things happen. You know that. You know what happened to Bledsoe and Brady. I’m sure Tony’s aware of that. But the reality is, Tony’s going to come back for us and play great, we believe.”

“I don’t think our guys would even consider trading Prescott for Lynch right now,” said Jones. “No, I know they wouldn’t. That’s how much they like Dak right now.”

That's the politically correct thing to say, as we all would assume. But… What if Dak comes in and is 4-2 after six weeks? At that point, I honestly don't see them giving Romo his job back.

Sounds like the typical delusion we have come to expect from the Joneses. The next Tom Brady? Come on...

The chance that Dak is going to come in and immediately be a top 10 NFL QB, which Romo is, is so tiny as to almost not even be worth considering.

Having said that, if it happens? Welp, that sucks for Tony, but we'd be silly to go back.

They didn't say he was the next Brady. They used that as an example of a starting qb losing his job to the young upstart. You're Michael Jordan Space Jam reaching with that one.

Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe even at his best Bledsoe to be in the same stratosphere as Romo as a QB.
Bledsoe was "okay". Before Brady came along he finished in the top 10 in passer rating in only 2 of his 8 seasons. He was mostly known for being prolific... he had a stretch where he led the league in pass attempts 3 years in a row and is still very high on the all-time list. He was also actually pretty durable... except for that one time he needed to be.
A lot of people don't remember that there was a lot of controversy with BB's decision, it's not as if Brady immediately came in and lit it up, and the team was scuffling a bit when Bledsoe became healthy. Most of Bellichick's reasoning had to do with the always hard to define "chemistry". It helps he was right.

The fact that he even brought that up means he's thought of it. Their "optimism" is off the charts, and it leads to poor personnel decisions (including the "Romo has 5 more years" insanity which got us in this mess in the first place)

The fact that he brought it up is the fact that is the most famous example in recent history of a good qb losing his job to a young guy. Again you're reaching

We've all seen how impressively Prescott handles himself on the field but just haven't been privy to see how well he conducts himself in terms of relating to his teammates. It means plenty to his teammates to really like and relate to their leader. The more we hear about Dak and how well he's liked and respected by those around him is extremely encouraging to say the least. I do believe we've got a keeper here, folks!
I'm with you here.

My biggest concern going forward is does the staff have the ability to get this guy ready?

Every indication is that they have not been up to now..

there has been a parade of players at QBs none of whom have been serviceable.

Remember..Garrett and the team told us Brandon Wedded was the answer.

Not.

And everybody brought in under Garrett has gone belly up.

So I pray DAK is our guy..I still see us going 8-8 or worst.

The staff is going to cling to Romo returning and we are going all be split about Romo being given another chance under Jerrah.

Hope DAK just lights up so Romo can be our backup for the next couple of years and let him retire healthy.

Romo as a backup would be awesome.

It's what needs to happen.

All signs point toward Tony making another run this year, but if for some reason Tony's career ended on a play where he failed to outrun a trailing defender while running to his left...that would really suck.

I think we will have a pretty good idea after game one for what is in the cards for Dak and this team. If it is the same, mundane scheme with no creativity towards his strengths.........look forward to 2017 :(
