Interesting...Seems Big Bill got a Raise?

While taking the afternoon stroll home, the big debate on Randy Galloway and Company was the reports from Chris Mortensen that Big Bill's salary increased to $5 Million in 2006 and I believe to around $6 Million in 2007.

So in affect, Galloway and Company were debating whether or not Mr. Parcells deserved a $1 Million raise.

Has he done his job? You could probably argue that.

Does he deserve a huge raise? I don't think so.

Engel and Dennis joined the discussion and Engel said it probably was increased for "future performance".

Dennis and Randy said they didnt agree with an increase but if it was for future performance and if Jerry put a stipulation in the contract that he had to come back in 2007 they would agree.

BP works extremely hard which I saw first hand at training camp! He is intense and when it is time to work, you do not mess with him.

I remember one day being in the VIP area and I could see BP get on an exercise bike to work out. This VIP lady fan did not know better and she hollered to the coach if he would sign an autograph for her......what a mistake......he chewed her out.....and I remember him asking her in a loud voice......lady, do I come to your job and interrupt you while your working?

She was nearly in tears.......I was grinning from ear-to-ear and got the he77 out of there!

BOTTOM Line--he works HARD and we are LUCKY to have him back for at least 2006 to finish the mission of winning a SUPER BOWL!

What do you all think? That Jerry went to Bill and said "I'd like to extend you but for the same or less money"? Come on. That just isn't how things work. Honestly, I was surprised that BP didn't get a % of the team or something. This raise reflects inflation in coaching salaries -- not some huge bump in pay.

Frankly, if BP was starting rumors to get more money, then he did an awful job. That's a tiny raise by head coaching standards. Jerry doesn't really demonstrate a ton of self-control -- if BP was working him for more money he could have done a lot better.

BP is the GM and coach essentially so the raise was in fact warranted. He was already going to make more than 4 mil so it was actually less than a million bump this season and up to 6 million in 2 years which he may or may not actually even coach.

BP might be just over .500 here in 3 seasons but we are a winning team with a lot of key young guys in place. We were putting together back to back to back 5 win seasons when he showed up and being lucky to cull 1 player per draft class. Looks like we have already found 4 or more from just this class.

Poor Jerry. 3 years ago, "Jerry can't co-exist with a true coach", they screamed. No Jerry does everything possible to keep a real football guy around and now this..........

Sucks to be Jerry. Well maybe not, to answer your question, whats a million to a multi Billionaire.... Not much my friend.
