you know we have all this cap room, so who cares a couple millions to keep a coach who has us at least no repeating 5-11 seasons over and over again, whether he has filled his bill as the coach, it doesnt matter a couple mill for a guy who has brought us back to playoff contention is worth it.
It would be interesting if a Cowboys player asks to redo their deal this offseason and see what these same guys say.

$5 million dollars a year?!

Jerry, are you really that convinced after these past 3 years that Parcells is worth that? And that not only will he make the Cowboys super bowl contenders now, that he will also leave the team setup for future success?

Because for $5million year, the answers to that question HAVE BETTER BE YES.

I myself am not convinced, though would love to be wrong.

A raise for being a .500 coach....

Sure, that makes sense...

And btw, it isnt a "raise" it's a renegotiation...

Welcome to Parcells World boys and girls.

Negativity much?

It isn't your money, it doesn't affect the cap, why does anyone care what Parcells makes?

Oh, I'm just going around rattling cages...

We all have our likes and dislikes...

Parcells simply makes me nutz...

I very much liked him here in NY...thought he was a blast...

This version of him just grates on me.

I'm willing to bet if he goes out and wins it all next year you'll learn to live with him and his quirks :D

Who cares what you (we) think.

JJ is his boss and it's his decision to pay his employees accordingly.
JJ is the most shrewd business man I've seen. He wasn't born yesterday. Do you really think you know more about what BP should be paid than his billionaire boss does?

Why all the hatred towards BP. Direct it towards the man who writes the checks not the one who cashes em.

When you get a raise at your job let us know so we can chew you about it since we know more about your work ethic than your boss does.

THATS WHAT WE WERE WHEN BILL ARIVED - And he coached up his first team big.

As an organization - we are light years forward.

3 years before BP 15-33 regular season 0-0 playoff record

3 years since BP 25-23 regular season 0-1 playoff record

So in BP's 3 years we have 10 more regular season wins to show, but still no playoff wins. Sorry, but BP isn't getting the job done either.

If you just judge on playoffs yes, you are right, but it is undeniable that we are a better organization and team three years after Parcells was hired than we were the three previous years. Damn, we didn't even have a play to get a yard on 4th and 1 before he got here.

I could have made this a better organization and team than it was 3 years ago. How hard to you think it is to improve on the Campo regime....seriously? How many of the 32 coaches in the NFL this past year couldn't improve on Campo?

Sure we have more talent on the team than we did 3 years ago, but BP has had more to work with. First round picks that Campo didn't have, cap space that Campo didn't have and the freedom to buy his own groceries that Campo didn't have. I would be surprised if Parcells couldn't turn this team around given the tools he had to work with. I will say though that unless Julius Jones proves he can stay injury free for an entire season and Patrick Crayton doesn't show more than potential then the entire 2004 draft can be considered a bust. Also he surely hasn't done a very good job drafting offensive lineman.

I'm glad that BP is still the coach of the Dallas Cowboys, I want to see what he can do in his 4th year. He took both the Giants and the Pats to the superbowl in his 4th year as their head coach. Time for excuses is over, BP has got to get this team over the hump and not allow a 4th consecutive second half fall off.

It's not a question of whether Jerry can afford it or if it's his team!

The question is Does Parcells deserve a 1 million dollar raise for what he has done in Dallas?

Any reasonable person who has worked for a living and had to produce will say NO!

so basically, you're saying you don't have a point?

because I agree with those saying that the only person who should care in all this, is Jerry, cuz it's his money

Look,no one is arguing that we're not better now than we were 3 years ago.I think we might be even heading in the right direction, especially with another offseason like last year.Saying that,I believe we are actually behind in the rebuilding process under Parcells. All the changes and good personnel moves that he made last year, should have been made when he got here. When he got this job,we all expected those kind of moves. He didn't do much at all,but he did do a remarkable coaching job that 1st season. His 2nd season here he was terrible. There is no other way to describe it.He didn't attend the senior bowl or the combine. His draft was fairly shaky, and he was extremely cheap and bad in free agency. That my friend put us even further behind in the process. He may very well turn this completely around, but he is running behind in the process. As of right now,in 3 years,he has taken a bad team, and made them average. That doesn't deserve a raise in pay right now.
