This^^^

It was the same thing when he was at guard. He made one pancake block on a highlight reel and suddenly he was LA.

Total Horsecrap. Now IF Collins had been put at RT to stay from the beginning then you might have a point.

He is only MONTHS into being a RT in the NFL and only morons would expect pro bowl level play consistently.

Chaz has not played well in the middle and Collins has let guys cross his face if we're trying to get outside.

I don't expect him to be a pro bowler yet, but for people to say he's better than Free after 3 games is Total horse crap! Free could play and was the leader of the line.

The pre-retired Free still holds an edge in effective run blocking ability over Collins. Pass blocking ability? Right now, I think they are neck-and-neck.

Free's lateral movement was fairly shot by the end. A speedy edge rusher could attack Free's right shoulder, beat him pretty well and leave Free shuffling.

Collins has been coping with the same difficulty but it has been more of a technique-and-timing thing. Experience can help him improve that area of his game. If successful, Collins will make some of his critics forget about Free whenever Prescott drops back to pass.

Collins has been awesome going up against JPP and Miller. If Free was playing JPP would have had 3 sacks and Miller 4 and Dak would be on his way to the same back issues Romo has. How quickly you guys forget JPP eating Free's lunch last 2 years.

Free of about THREE years ago could play. His last two season he was clearly not very good. And frankly that leaders stuff is over blown.

Collins is better than Free was his last year. Now he just has to work on his technique and consistency.

Overall? I agree but Collins has room for improvement. He has the potential of becoming a dominant right tackle but he is not quite there yet.

Collins has been awesome going up against JPP and Miller.

I don't get this urban legend that has formed here on CZ that Collins did great against Von Miller.

Von Miller had registered a grand total of 0 sacks in his previous 5 games before the Dallas game.

Von Miller beat Collins for 2 sacks in that game.

I get that both of them happened in the latter stages of the game when Denver was pinning their ears back... having said that, I just don't know on what planet anybody can reasonable say Collins dominated Miller or was awesome against Miller.

He pretty much stalemated Von Miller for the part of the game when we were IN IT. So that is pretty important.
And since Von Miller is pretty much acknowledged as one of the three best pass rushers in the NFL that is saying something.

ADD to that Collins is a RT not a LT so the standard for them is lower.

2 sacks when the game was already over and he had no run game responsibility. I even saw Collins successfully block Miller to the ground when Miller jumped offsides trying to get around his outside. That's impressive IMO. 0 sacks while Dallas was in the game against the best pass rusher on the planet. Ill take that all day. And we ran like a 100 pass plays.

How about JPP? 0 sacks. 1 QB pressure and 1 TFL. No comment there?

We miss Leary in the run game. Green/Collins in the run game is a work in progress.
Could not agree more! And think that's the main issue with the running game! We really miss Leary. Remember Zeke was struggling the first game or so while Leary was hurt last year. Soon as Leary returned to the lineup, Zeke did better.

I think the Giants and Denver's front and Dallas poor game plans had more to do with the lacks of success on the ground than Collins/Green.

Hmm- that's interesting bro- Green is terrible at run blocking to me. He's too high and gives away way too much leverage during the running game. Also, he doesn't take proper angles which definitely affect his ability to engage properly. Just watch him- I went back and reviewed the game and Green's play was terrible.

With all the negativity around him, I will be laser focused on him this week.

Last year Dallas ran the ball 43% even when behind.
After 3 games this season there at 28%.

Have to get back to our bread an butter.

Last year the LOS did not get stuffed like it is this year.

We're 2-1 in those games, having gotten away from the running game. We didn't lose many games last season, but I wonder whether running when behind helped as much as passing has this year.

I also imagine there probably weren't a lot of games out there where they passed as much as they did v. Denver this year.

It way too early to compare a 3 game season to a 16 game season...especially since we were blown out one of those games and forced to pass.

Not accurate.

They were pass happy from beginning to end, no matter the score.
