What type of quality LT are you going to get with the 27th pick of the 2nd round.....

People don't realize that by then any decent LT will be gone.
Besides, if we are able to draft Iupati in the 1st, and get Bushrod for our 2nd, we just improved our OL.

It's not like we're losing our 1st and 3rd, just our second. A player like Bushrod is worth a 2nd rounder.

Use common sense people, it's the bang for the buck. Besides, Bushrod would have a lot of help here.
Bushrod-Iupati-Gurode-BIGG-Free is a sick OL.

Preach it brotha!!!

Who else in the late 2nd is better than Bushrod?

Im really interested what Baltimore does with Gaither. If they slap a 2nd round tender on him we better swoop!!

I love all these clowns in here spewing that he sucks because Ware and Freeney abused him.

They abuse all LT's. Give me a ****ing break with that garbage.

Not sure why you are laughing, Adams is a better player than Bushrod is. I doubt anyone in NFL personnel would dispute it.

Bushrod is a JAG, Adams is a perennial probowl player.

Bushrod doesnt make anyone's OL "sick"

He's a JAG, and nothing more. I dont think yielding draft picks, especially premium picks for guys who are ordinary is a smart move. Our scouts have been doing a tremendous job for several seasons. If the team was void of talent and the scouts/front office couldnt pick quality players, making this kind of move might make soem sense. Otherwise, no.

Yep. It's a miracle they won the SB with him at LT.

And no one reasonable would ever say he is not a better player than Bushrod, so I am struggling to see your point. Despite the abuse he gets from Cowboys fans, Adams is still a high level left tackle.

But there are people here suggesting to sign him to an offer sheet (which would have to be substantial, to get New Orleans not to match) and replace Adams with him.

It looks like New Orleans is playing the game with him, hoping the tender gets him in a little cheaper. When Brown returns, he is going to be a reserve again. They have good depth with Bushrod and also RT Zach Strief. It would not shock me if they looked to trade him once they get a good idea what his market value is.

As for replacing Adams with him, it is just reactionary nonsense. People have been trying to replace Adams (or propose to move him to RT or G) for years. I don't pay any attention to it.

I would not have any problem signing a good young player like Bushrod with the intention of starting him once Adams departed.

Regardless, this might be a waste of time. There are plenty of teams who know they will miss out on the top tackles who would hand Bushrod a starting job immediately (i.e. Buffalo).

Bushrod received a lot of TE help in NO. He will not be able to hold down the fort one-on-one anywhere near the level that Flozell has.

I think he's better than any LT in the draft not named Okung,Davis,Williams, Baluga.

No one is saying that Bushrod is going to be way better than Flo.
Flo is getting old, in fact, he is old. He's getting beat by speed rushers like a red headed stepchild... Why do you think he resorted to tripping edge rushers?

Flo has one more season in Dallas at most. We need a replacement, and in the bottom of the 2nd round it's going to be hard to find one.

And to be honest, we haven't been very sucessful at drafting OL in the past 10 years have we?

Bushrod for a bottom 2nd rounder makes sense. That's all I'm saying.
We need to get a LT and a LG soon. We could fill both needs if we get bushrod.

If Free becomes a better LT then move Bushrod to RT.

And how exactly does that dispute anything I stated?
If Doug Free started tomorrow at LT, he would be getting TE help.

So that is a good basis for getting another player that would need TE help? Scouts Inc said that he was clearly their weakest link on the offense last season.

Out of curiosity, what games did you witness this year where Adams got "beat by speed rushers like a red headed step child"

And like I said, trading a 2nd rounder for a JAG doesnt make sense to me. You can sign JAGS as unrestricted free agents, not give up picks for them.

You don't remember the tripping calls at all?
They started in the first Giants game and continued for a few games.
No one is disputing that Flo is still a good LT, or that Bushrod is better.
However, Flo can't play forever. We need someone to replace him. Bushrod for a 2nd is not a bad tradeoff, and it would allow us to get a stuf OG to anchor the OL for years.
