Interesting tidbit on the Romo-Tanner INT

Haven't seen this posted anywhere but apparently that interception to Tanner was actually going to Beasley. Tanner ran the wrong route and led his man into the passing lane resulting in the INT. He was supposed to run out into the flat.

When I first watched it I just thought it was a horrendous throw to Tanner honestly. But upon rewatching it again from the highlights it is pretty apparent. Beasley indeed had a step on his man right behind Tanner. The play could have gone for 10-15 yards to Beasley easily.

I'm not trying to say Romo has no blame in the INT. Players are going to run wrong routes at times and the quarterback still has to be aware of what happens on the field. But I have noticed in general he is making pretty good decisions with the football. I think it bodes well for us especially if Kiffin somehow manages to make something out of this defense.

I thought the same thing during the game and replayed the play to make sure. It was pretty obvious after looking at it again.

I thought this was pretty obvious, couldn't figure out how the broadcast missed it. Either way, tanner also had a gaffe or two in pass protection. He allowed at least one sack because he didn't recognize the stunt.

Collinsworth would have noticed it. He would have come back after the commercial break and broke down the play for us.

IMO, Collinsworth is the best one out there. He may not have the best sounding voice, but he provides great analysis.

Lucky it didn't hurt the team. The mistake by Tanner easily could have put Philly right back in it.

And the Romo-hating trolls will see the stat line of 2 picks and fire up their machines.

My gripe against Romo here is that it was another player where he waited until the last nanosecond to hike the ball.

That's when the offense starts getting themselves in trouble. Other players start botching assignments, O-Linemen can't get the cadence, hot reads get screwed up, etc.

We went thru most of the 3rd quarter waiting until the last moment to hike the ball. It worked to a degree, but sooner or later you knew something was going to go wrong and it did.

Sometimes, you just have to hike the ball and just out-play the defense.
