Because Zeke fans are TEAM fans, they like both players and how well they work together.
As where most Pollard fans hate Zeke for some dumb reason.

Just be happy to be 9-3. Regardless of the player or the pay check.
That’s interesting i see it as the opposite. These fans are Zeke fans over Cowboy fans.

In the end i want zeke to be successful because that’s team success in theory. I feel these fans would be happier if zeke was getting 200 yards a game but our record was worse.

IDK, to be honest, I don't recall ever seeing any hate toward Pollard, but plenty toward Zeke. So IF I were to label someone as fans of a player over the team, I'd have to say it was more likely the ones who act like Pollard is the answer to everything. He's a very good player in our system, but so is Zeke. People need to start realizing they're best when they complement each other.

Just out of curiosity, do the stats show when he gets those long TDs? Are they mostly in the first half, or are they usually after the defense has been worn down? I love Pollard, but if I were signing the paychecks, I'd want to be sure he was solely responsible for his big plays before I gave him a huge raise.

vs. Rams 57 yard TD run in 2nd quarter

vs. Bears 54 yard TD run in 4th quarter

vs. Vikings 30 yard TD pass in 2nd quarter; 68 yard TD pass in 3rd quarter

vs. Colts 30 yard TD run in 4th quarter

Not saying Zeke made it easy. Not even saying it's easy. If it were, he'd have a lot more TDs of 30 yards. But you can't possibly think that Zeke, the O-line, and the play calling have no bearing.

Pollard is a great weapon, but if the FO we're to give him a big contract, then his production dropped, everyone would be saying how stupid they were not to look hard into why he was so successful.
You said no such thing. This is what I despise about this place. People change what you say so they can argue. Maybe their brain reads it wrong...so they can argue. Maybe they try to "interpret" what you say...because they are SO clever.

You were simply trying to put some context to the stat with a sincere...and worthwhile question.

I don;t know the factual answer to your question...but it seems to me it's pretty spread out. If true...that is FANTASTIC...and does speak to the rest of the team including play calling (didn't think I'd say that about KM!).

I've called for KM to mix up these RBs for a couple years now...and he's finally doing it. Zeke raising his hand and Tony jogging on is a dead give away for our next play. STUPID! Now we covertly sub them in with no time for the defense to adjust personnel. I do think this great benefits Tony. It's not an "excuse" for Tony's big plays....just opportunity to take advantage of his skills.

And yes...may heaven help Tony iffn he gets paid. These guys will turn on him in an instant.

The only thing I have every said....which some people around here define as "hate"...is that I was unsure if he can be the bellcow #1 RB game after game, season after season. He's just never done it and it's just a FACT.

Tony seems to be busting my chops about it. :p

Even the staunchest of Zeke proponents would have to admit he isn't capable of these plays. That said, are those plays important enough to warrant a huge payday, or do other factors need to be considered? We've seen him get worn down (understandably) during a big yardage day, so I don't know if he could get the lion's share of runs without it taking a toll over the course of a season. I think he's best as a complementary RB, and not the bell cow type.

I'm all for trying to keep him, and paying him well for it, but I don't want the team to get trapped in another bad contract.

Actually it is the opposite. Zeke haters rather we lose and he has a bad game. Same for the ones against a certain QB.
Just so they say that are correct.
It will be the same for the playoffs. many are just waiting for us to lose to cut and paste their usual responses as to be correct.

Hambrick was special until we found out he was not

And Julius Jones. And Demarco Murray (he of the Cowboys record for yardage in a season).

But pay Pollard? I thought Jerry was insane to pay Zeke, after 3 years and 2 rushing titles. The "you don't pay big contracts to running backs, they're a dime a dozen" theory, or so we were sagely advised by some here.

Make up your minds....

I would not be shocked if Jerry would draft RB Corum from Michigan...highly rated RB out with a knee injury. you know, one of his second round projects. In my dream world, i would love to have Bijan Robinson from TX but he will be long gone by then.

As for Pollard, pay the man. If you can hold your nose and pay Schultz almost $11m and Zeke almost $15m AAV.. then you can do it for TP. Schultz will be gone and Zeke either cut or drastic paycut. Right now, Tony is the most important offensive weapon along with CeeDee.

Okay then. How about Joseph Randle?

Tashard Choice?

What do any of those guys have to do with Tony Pollard?

It’s as dumb as me pointing out Demarco Murray or Marion Barber.

Such a stupid thought from some of you.

How about look at the individual player and how unconsciously good he is right now.

He’s been our best RB for 2 1/2 years now.

The comparison to other Cowboys is so lazy and it’s literally because Pollard wears the same laundry as those guys. That’s all they have in common as players.

Fair guess we’ll disagree.

The people that aren’t pro zeke could not care less the name on the uniform just the star on the helmet.
Well we’ll agree that we want a victory so let’s get it!

Fwiw i think Murray in prime was at least as good as prime zeke - i think he had like 500 more yards in his best year with an inferior line (think Martin was a rookie, Frederick was still ascending)
he was a beast of blocker, physical, fast, etc so similar

Michael Irvin in his bold prediction today.
2 100 yard RB's
2 100 yard WR's
1 100 yard TE

I would love to see both RB's go for over 100 yards. But by doing that, the other things most likely won't happen. Maybe a 100 yard WR.

TP is great BUT those claorng for more snaps and to Be "featured" have no clue on the dynamic of the type of back he is and keeping him fresh. Hes the most dangerous in this split rotation.. trying to turn him into a 25+ carry game back where hes in on 40+ snaps with blocking and routes, not his style.

Keeping his fresh is in the best ion trust of TP, zeke, and the team.

This is why people get upset with Zeke.

It’s clear Tony Pollard is what is best for this team. Last year the team forced a 1 legged Zeke to play the majority of snaps when Pollard was an electric runner for us.

Ezekiel Elliot’s contract has been a higher priority than the team and that frustration gets taken out on Elliot.

He’s a really good compliment to Pollard but Pollard is the guy who can jump start our offense.

total Homer LOL

I don't think that happening because i believe mid 3rd we totally have this comfortably won and sub in many players.
