There was a ruling that rooting/jail breaking doesn't void your warranty per the service provider but the phoney company might void your warranty

I believe the ruling states that rooting/jail breaking isn't illegal, which is not to say it wouldn't void your warranty.

I dont see how changing the OS of the phone can cause the hardware to malfunction. So I dont see how they can void warranty either. The Magnuson-Moss Act states that they would have to show the modification you made caused the damage, I dont think that would be possible by jail breaking the phone.

it voids the warranty because it makes the device open to apps/programs that were not approved by the manufacturer, and in some cases susceptible to viruses

ie you cannot get a virus on an iphone unless it is jailbroken

I JUST bought the Thunderbolt 3 days ago.

LOVEEEEE the phone but the battery life is god awful. I charge it constantly. 4G is sooooooooooooo much faster than 3G.

The Verizon IPhone 4 is a lot faster than AT&T but is still behind the Thunderbolt speed wise.

The only negative about the Thunderbolt I have is the battery life. I bought a 2nd battery for when I am unable to charge it anyways so it isn't a problem for me.

Just ran this speed test on my TB and got;

206ms PING
7.639 megabytes per second download
3.114 megabytes per second upload.

I don't believe that's true at all. Verizon's network may or may not be more reliable but the AT&T iPhone 4 has consistently tested to having faster 3G speeds than Verizon's iPhone 4.

A quick google check will provide you with several articles as proof.

All that said, yes, the Thunderbolt slays any 3G phone out there.

You can believe anything you want but my eyes saw it clearly when we went to the same sites over and over. All three phones were side by side, Verizon IPhone finished 2nd each and every time by a good margin.

That's fine.

It's up to you if you want to believe your experience defines the experience of everyone else.

The Thunderbolt is pretty nifty. One of my minions at work got one and it's awesome. However, in 3 months it will be old news and there will be a new awesomesauce android phone out...one of the things i dislike about android. new phones every time you turn around, running 2332434 different versions of the OS. I might have to jump ship eventually...the last couple of months my iphone4 has been pissing me off.

my advice is to root it and run a custom kernel and get setcpu once you do that go into set cpu and make a profile for screen off and make it drop the cpu down to its min. also turning off animations (they are pointless) helps aloooot, my buddy is testing his kernel as we speak hes on 4g and has 60% left after 17 hours...bastid wont let me be a tester though lol

I know all about this. I rooted my OG D1, was running Bugless Beast GP14 w/ a 1 GHz Chevy kernal.

I only keep Txt messaging open, everything else I keep closed when not using. I do also send/receive upwards of 12,000 txts a month and double my phone as an iPod, but still charging it 2 times minimum a day, 3 times some days is ridiculous.
