Is Andrew Luck overrated?

Pagano is a run first HC and as others have pointed out - Trent Richardson absolutely SUCKS. Reggie Wayne is out as is Allen. They are going to war with a squirt gun right now. Luck has enormous talent. I submit that were it not for Luck, this Colt team would be in contention to be one of the worst teams in the league right now. Luck is holding this decimated team together.

I don't think he's overrated. Maybe his rookie year was a bit overhyped. His numbers were not overly great or anything, And he had to win a lot of games at the end so he played well with the game on the line. But he's like any other QB in the league. You have to have weapons to throw to and a running game to complement.

HIs passer rating is 84.2, 21st in the league.

HIs yards/attempt is 6.72, 28th in the league.

He completes less than 60 percent of his passes, both last year and this year.

His team got blown out 35-0 at home recently, (although they are 7-4.)

HIs 15/7 TD/int is good. And he wins. And I still think he'll be a great quarterback by the end of it. But people have been putting him in the top 5. If RGIII had been blown out at home 35-0, you wouldn't hear the end of it.

He's overrated by those putting in the top 5 already. No way he is that.
But he's not overrated by those that see him as an ideal young franchise QB. His potential is immense and it requires no gimmicks for him to grow into that potential.

Luck has better numbers than Griffin does for the entire season. I think they will both be good, but right now Luck is having the better year.

I agree with that, he is having the better season. But I also feel he's bit overrated and gets a free pass when he plays poorly.

I agree, it has nothing to do about being liked. Luck is just a better quarterback.

For me he's the real deal and Dallas would be most fortunate to land a QB of his ability when Romo hangs up his cleats.

Also, maybe was already stated but Luck benefited greatly from Reggie Wayne. Once he went down, compare his numbers and there is a huge margin of difference. That was his guy and he counted on him. Every QB has one. Their offense just is not anywhere close to what it was with him in the lineup. And that stupid Richardson trade did not help matters.

I don't overrate him and don't see a lot of people doing so. He has been a little disappointing overall but he needs a lot of help on offense. Wayne is down, Dwayne is down, his O line blows and they need a better running game.

His OC from college, Pep Hamilton, is a god awful play caller as well.

He obviously hasn't been the best from his class so far, though.

Luck is probably the second best QB right now of that group the way Wilson is playing. BUT you cannot discount all those 4th QTR comebacks he has had. That has a cumulative effect- the Colts know if they can keep it close he can win it for them. That kind of confidence is hard to measure in how much effect overall that it has but it is not small.

The Colts are not as good a team as they looked at the end of last year. They had no depth which shows up now with those injuries.

Maybe a tad but I think he is the future of the position. With Wayne gone, he has no one to throw to and no running game either.. This Colts team is not very good imo.

I think Wilson is very good and he also has a very good offensive line to play behind. That is a great combination to have. Luck's line isn't that good right now.
